I had my taste of rush hour today on my way to Micro Center to pick up a 4090. I'm done with that mess.

People that want to remain remote need to have it in their employment agreement. It also has tax implications for the employee and the employer.

For sure. Not sure how commonplace it is but both of our workplaces made agreements with all of their employees as of earlier this year based on employee preference. It’s not going away for good companies that hire good people.

Nice re: 4090 .. I haven't seen the FE for sale yet, waiting on that one.

I could build my own pc but looks like I may get a prebuilt with a 4090 from Origin. If anyone has advice on Origin, reviews sound good enough. My half cash portfolio position allows me to afford their prices.

Time for me to move more cash into stocks. I might wait a day or two to see how this settles out. S&P 3300 would be a much more properly priced market, but I'm not sure if it will go that low.

Just for reference sake, after the tech bubble crash of 2000, it took almost 12 years to overtake those all time highs in the QQQs (top 100 tech stocks) after the crash.

As I mentioned before we will probably need something big and new like new tech to take us back to old highs. The Fed backing off might not be enough on its own. The alternative is long term profit growth to get us back there.

Right now we have tons of debt with lots of interest that has to be paid. Don't be surprised to see tax increases or reduced spending in the future.

a lot of the debt is at low interest rates, and higher rates will lessen the impact of the older debt

but i expect at least the next 20 years to suck, like the early 60s to early 80s

less and less people will work in the US, and need to provide social security for more and more people.

The vix is selling off and people are trying to price in recession risk (lower rates). Too soon for that IMO, but it's anyone's guess. Also too many bears so no place to go but a bear market bounce.

Maybe some hope that the Fed will be patient and wait before doing the big time hike.

If you could get moderately long dated 5+% CDs/Treasuries, that would look pretty attractive.

I wish people would stop picking on payment for order flow. I like commission free trading. Saved thousands of dollars.

People have said we need a gigantic dump with a crazy vix level to indicate a 'possible' bottom. Typically you have year end rallys once you get past October. People want to be optimistic and everyone wants to try to catch the bottom, its just human nature.
