It'll take a few weeks or so to close every last one of the Bed Bath & Beyond stores. So still a chance to go there an have your last real bed rest test. Not counting Ikea, Macy's and the others.

I still remember my $2,000 CD with Nowlin S&L paying 11.50% in 1989.

When the CD matured I paid cash for a 1978 Datsun 280z with a 5 speed manual from the original owner. I loved that car.

Inflation adjusted the cash would be worth $4,800 and a 78 Datsun in good condition could go for $8,000 or more. Mine looked almost exactly like this one:

Lower credit rating could raise interest rates for borrowing by the government. Higher interest costs means more money printed to pay the interest, which means more inflation, which means higher interest rates, more borrowing etc. Not sure we get out of this cycle until we use tax raises to reduce inflation, not interest rates.

All I know, if you never want to be in cash for long. Buy stocks and real estate.

Made a quick buck on Carvana and Nickola. Market is overdue for a pullback but it may just keep going up.

Apple reported earnings, and it was slightly less than what they made last year. The stock is still up 15% YoY, cuz QQQ hype. Apple is trying to get AI hype but that's not working.

iPad revenue also dropped a lot in the quarter.

Oh and about housing... a couple units just sold for a price that totally blows my mind.

I have no idea what these people are thinking. I hope they don't think they are going to get a bailout.

RKT (Rocket Mortgage umbrella company) shot up 11.5% so far today. I offloaded the few hundred share I had left. Will probably buy a few back next week after the price comes back down. Probably still a few years away from another mortgage boom.

Excellent reasoning. When the Fed starts cutting that will likely be a buy.

Apple isn't going anywhere of course and they have brand loyalty like few other companies.

But it's sort of nice to that they might, maybe try to copy sammysung with the flexible screens. The pocket tablet looks awesome and I love my Z4 flip phone.

Anyone with JNJ shares? Looking for pros/cons of exchanging shares with Kenvue.

I know JNJ is staying with their medical instruments and that Kenvue is the spinoff on the end consumer medical supplies. I'm debating if it's worth exchanging some shares or just adding some Kenvue.

I saw today that once the conversion is done, Kenvue will be added to the S&P 500 so I picked up a few today.

I'm leaning on leaving the JNJ shares I have alone and not convert any of them. I have both now and are on the 'set it and forget it' path.

I'm hoping that once Kenvue is added to the S&P 500 it will get a boost.
