reduce your cost of living… Sounds like you got uuuge bills
I think more the issue is that he lives in a downtrodden, overlooked city and has goals to retire early. That particular combination might be unattainable. But, in my opinion, retiring early shouldn't actually be that obtainable. We can't have people living 80+ years and only working ~30 to ~40 of them.
I would rather see costs of living go down, so that the money I make goes further, I can put some in savings and investments, and actually retire early. With the current system that's not really easy to do for most people.

Been working on that but only so much I can do. Lot of bills are fixed with no way to reduce, like property taxes, water/sewer, insurance, etc. I will have the wood stove working by next year and recently got a hybrid water heater, which will save on gas, so it's something. Even then there's always fixed fees on utility bills.

Long term I will probably move off grid as it's the only way to get away from most bills such as property taxes which is my biggest expense. I do worry that by then something comes up like a medical issue where I can't do that though so I can't think of it as being my only option.

NYSE will delist Fisker (FSR) stock. Sad.

Not as sad as those that recently took delivery of one. That's immediately huge depreciation.

Fisker listed under FSRN in OTC Markets. Currently trading at 3 cents. Good buy?

Anyone shorting DWAC?
Lol, I sure hope not. The new ticker DJT hit $75 today from $49 yesterday.

Normally SPACS crash after the proposed merger because of massive dilution with shares and warrants.

The current market cap is 2.5b. My funny bone tells me it may see 5.0b or $150 on hype alone....but reality says it will go under $10 at some point.

Edit...just fell $20 a share to 59..

Emailed my broker's support to try to get more info on index funds, I'm wondering if maybe they don't support it. From googling, all the ticker codes I found don't work with my broker so maybe they don't deal with those at all and only do the regular mutual funds.

I found Wealthsimple, and Questtrade and think those do Index funds, so worse case scenario I might just open an account at one of those places.

As a side note, how do you sell an OTC stock? One of the stocks I bought is OTC and it won't let me sell it. I want to sell off all the stocks I have that are in the green so I can move that to index funds once I have that figured out.

The Canadian equivalent of VTSAX/VTI is VUN. Tracks the CRSP US Total Market Index.

Buy that*

Appartly DJT has almost no float, not to mention no earnings.

DJT should now merge with Gamestop

Off topic yes but some things are almost twice the price. When I go to the store oddly enough some items are almost the same price they were 4 years ago. For example breakfast cereal is still under $4 a box for Special K. But I used to use Sensodyne toothpaste, it is nearly twice as expensive now. Dove Men care shampoo is $7.94 a bottle, it was under $3.00. A cube of diet Mountain Dew used to be $8.99 in 2020, now it up to $13.98. I'm sure there are price tracker website or apps out there. I just quit buying stuff when I think I'm being gouged.

You're falling for their games if you're only comparing price.

If the size was different I would have stated that, but this is for the family size same number of ounces, it hasn't changed.

Kellogs? In four years? That can't be right. Kellogs has been the most egregious when it comes to shrinkflation.
