this board is a piece of sh*t.. who the heck mounts a battery VERTICAL? did anyone else have a problem with the battery breaking off the motherboard? i can understand vertical, but only being held in place by THREE sautering points? WTF?! now i have to RMA this thing and wait a week to get another one and then figure out a way to secure the battery better.

why you're so furious. My BD7II is cool and sailing,
1.6A @ 168 MHzclock 1:1 CPU/RAM, or at another setting
150/200 MHz at 3:4 cpu/ram (with Samsung DDR333 and 2.6v).
Both settings have been thru 3Dmark with Prime 95 running in the background.

Initial impressions:

No problems with the installation. The BIOS is dated 4/19/2002, the system temp reads as ~40C, CPU temp reads as ~42C, and the only memory options are 1:1 and 3:4.

One noticeable difference from the BG7 is that the POST screen shows both the CPU and the memory speeds when the CPU speed is set to manual mode.

Why does my bios say 1:1 and 4:3 (instead of 3:4)?

Thanks cpars, that worked like a charm.

Only problem is, it's 133:178 (2-2-5-2). The only way to run it at 166MHz is to reduce the FSB to ~125MHz, right? That is no good.

Why in the world would you want to restrict yourself to 166 when you can achieve more ...Pic...
My corsair xms 3200c2 should be here tomorrow and I will see if it will get me any higher than this samsung 2700

curious - can you use the "high" setting on the "low" CPUs - i.e. the 1.6a's and 1.8a's etc...

how does the 4:3 benefit over the 3:4?

I have some PC2100 Crucial but it just can't take it above 160 or so. WinXP just restarts after a minute or two of starting apps. Really need some Samsung now!


I'm at 150fsb 1:1, stable, 1.6v and +10%. Temps hover at 47 CPU and 38 system with a PAL 8942 and Silencer 80mm. Its nice to hear others' updates with this motherboard after a few months time.
