Aside from continuing the tradition of the thread, I am curious about
the memory bandwidths people have been able to attain with this board.

I'll start (P4 1.6A):

366 MHz stable and cool (+5% vcore)
381 MHz stable and hot (+10% vcore)

memory brand: Corsair value select PC2700 512MB chip

thanks in advance!

P4 1.6a@2.4ghz (150mhz FSB) using 5% vcore

Memory Settings (375DDR):
2.5,6,3,3
HIGH
4:5
2.6V

Completely Stable running Prime and other tests for days

BG-7 is reporting hot temps:
Idel: 45-49C
Load: 55-59C

Using Samsung "Original" DLT PC2700 512mb from Essential

I'm kinda annoyed with the BG7, but then again, I'm also not sure if it's my BG7 or my Samsung Original DTL stick that's not giving me DDR400.

P4 2.26B w/Samsung Original 512MB 'DTL' stick (in middle slot at the moment):

2.56GHz + DDR375 (vcore & vdimm at default) = 100% stable with temperatures idle/load @ 42C/55C
2.63GHz + DDR388 (vcore@1.575v, vdimm@2.6-8v) = Unstable. It's the Samsung holding me back otherwise it runs fine with 1:1 ratio

Note: I've always got the Hardware Strap at HIGH and memory timings by SPD.

Is there ANYONE out there who is using 4:5 ratio at 160MHz FSB on the Abit BG7? If so, what memory have you got and what are your BIOS settings please?

There is some kind of driver issue with 845g motherboards I can do 160 4:5 memory with my 1.6a
Once I install the chipset drivers and my detonator drivers I am back down to 1:1 150fsb It sucks I rma'ed
the board for IT7 motherboard I hope the 845e chipset is better.
I also found out that its a problem also with th epox 4g4a+ same chipset I dont think there will ever be an update to fix overclocking issues so thats why I am going with the IT7. heres my system for those who are curious

I built a new computer consisting of a Pentium 1.6A and an Abit BG7. I hooked up everything but when I turned it on, the system powers up but the screen is blank and the system just beeps. I then unhooked everything except the motherboard and CPU, same result. I'm not sure, but when I switch the PSU on, the lights on the keyboard turn on dimmed, they aren't full brightness, but I don't think they're supposed to be like that. It's a 350W L&C, it should be on 115V on the back right? Has anyone else had this problem where the keyboard lights up? This board doesn't have any diagnostic features right?

Update, reseated the CPU, same result

Minutes after I post this I reseat the RAM for the 30th time and boom it works! I guess those long beeps mean the RAM was not found or something.

iamshady,

This happened to me with two different BG7s. The RAM had to be pulled out and then reinserted.

funny thing,

Are you guys using WinXP Pro with the INF and IAA drivers installed when you say your system is stable at DDR400?

I'm using WinXP Pro with just the INF, WindowsUpdate and nvidia 29.42 drivers. My Samsung Original just won't overclock stable past DDR375... no matter what voltage I try.

Last night I ran Memtest86 v3.0 (it's linux based i think) and that proved that my Samsung is shite past DDR375. I should've bought the Corsair XMS3000 stick.

New numbers (thanks to cooler weather):

stability: the usual and now including warcraft 3.

2.42 GHz (151.5 FSB) + DDR379 = 100% stable with temperatures idle/load @ 44C/60C

3:4 impossible for me at this fsb.

vcore: 1.62 V
ddr:2.64 V
