Will someone with an IC7-G
PLEASE run the Microsoft "Windows Memory Diagnostics" program and see what happens? You
MUST have something connected to the Silicon Image controller (doesn't matter if IDE or SATA) and
the controller MUST be enabled. On the P4C800-E Deluxe, we are getting countless thousands of errors with this program when the Promise controller is enabled with something connected. It obviously is a "bug" with that mobo since everyone I've asked to check the
E version of that mobo has the problem. The NON E doesn't have it which does not have the ICH5R controller. So, it seems to be some sort of problem with the ICH5R/Promise controller. When the controller is DISabled or enabled with nothing connected,
NO ERRORS, and memory type is irrelevant. Although the IC7-G has a different controller, I'd still like to know if the IC7-G is also plagued with this issue before I buy it.
You don't need to worry about what's on your HD or anything getting corrupted, so if your main HD or any HD is on the ICH5(R) it can SAFELY be moved temporarily to the Promise. The program boots off a floppy and never goes into Windows or even knows a HD is connected (other than the errors).

I'm sure IC7-G users would like to know if they have this bug the P4C800-E Deluxe has.
Thank you!
