I was having a similar type issue with my IS7 and memory. If GAT was set to Auto everything looked fine in both CTIAW and Cpu-z. Soon as I turned on GAT to any level the divider went from 1:1 to 5:4 no matter what I set in the BIOS.
Well as I said "was having", currently I am awaiting new memory, Memtest found a ton of errors during test 5 phase with my ram (corsair twinx!), so I'm going to test when my replacement memory arrives and I'll let you know what I find out.

Having a problem here hope you guys can guide me.
Whenever I enable the GAT, my memory would run at 160mhz and not sync with the FSB, which is 200mhz. I used CPU-Z to check and it displayed 5:4 in the FSBRAM box.
these are my settings
n/b strap = FSB800
divider= 1:1
AGP/PCI= fixed
GAT= F1
refresh cycle time= auto
read delay tRD= auto
read delay adjust tRDA= auto
command per clock CPC=auto
Memory timing=2-2-2-6
anything wrong?
I'm using the 7/14/2003 BIOS (version 1.5)
Set GAT to auto and CPU-Z showed me 1:1 divider back.
Is this a CPU-Z bug or I din set the GAT setting properly?
system config:
p4 2.4ghz
is7-G
2x 256 hyperX
120gb cuda v
r9500pro
If you ran memtest in Dual channel mode that may be your problem. I have had quiet a few different brands/sizes fail at test 5 when using dual channel mode. If I tested them one at a time they were fine.

From what I've heard, yes. I've never tried mismatched pairs so I can't personally say for sure. in DC mode the memory modules are "run parallel" (right?) so they have to be matched. You may want to try the other memory timings as well set to the slowest module. There's more settings than just the CAS.

orion,
Yes both sticks are DDR400MHz.
Just so I am not confusing anyone.
I have two sticks of Kingston HyperX DDR400-one in DIMM1 and one in DIMM 3
I have two sticks of Kingston HyperX DDR400-one in DIMM2 and one in DIMM4.
So I will try the memory settings.
Thanks

Are you saying that you are using 4 sticks of memory? If so that is your problem. 4 unmatched sticks trying to run Dual channel.

Is it possible to update the BIOS from a cd-rom (don't have a FDD)? I've tried to search the Abit site, but found nothing...

I do not think there is, however you can update while in windows. It works pretty good but I would highly recommend that if you use this method and you are overclocked, go back to stock settings before doing it. Also when it is done updating don't forget to follow the directions and clear the CMOS.

I clicked the runme batch file, but I don't think anything happened. On reboot it said "cmos checksum error, press f1 for defaults", or somethng like that. I pressed f1, and the bios date got set back to 06/10/2003.
What am I doing wrong?
