Anyone having problems or had problems doing this?

Remember that the digital out is OPTICAL.
(not RCA plug)

The sound is great pumped from my PC to my HT.

I have a Norton Ghost backup that I have tested and works. I'm just trying to avoid having to do a fresh install, mainly because I am lazy.

Has anyone tried either of the methods I mentioned above?

I wouldn't. I'd save all your stuff to a spare partition. Then, do a clean install.

Thanks for telling me something I didnt think about...

If you have the time, could you find a link to one online? (Im in the UK but once I know what Im looking for, Ill be able to find one.)

EDIT: does this look right? My Stereo doesnt have a red light shining when i unplug its port so im guessing its not optical. So im guessing i need optical one end and RCA the other?

you need one of these then...

Converter - POF-830

I bought one of these for under 20 bucks somewhere ...
(cant remember where )

There is no cable convertion. --- remember .. it's Optical (light) ,,, not RCA (current)

Thats very helpful. Looks like it will cost about 3 times what I expected..... got to find one of those things in the UK first though.

You Americans seem to have everything in 1 convenient spot. Checking one of my favourite stores, looks like Ill be looking at multiple shops.

EDIT: I think ive found an optical cable and an RCA cable..... I think its now a case of where can I find a converter.

Ive had major difficulty finding a Converter for Optical to Coaxial and vice-versa here in the UK.

Anyone got any ideas on alternatives or where I can find one over here? Shipping will probably cost more than the part if I order from the US.

Just found one here. £20 + cables and delivery will run around £35 to allow me to change from analogue to digital.

Bit pricey.

OK so I see that Atech recommends the 2 x Mushkin 512MB PC3500 RAM (2-3-3) sticks to go along w/ this board. I was wondering tho, would any of the following be a better alternative for its pricetag. I could prolly find these cheaper, but for comparison's sake I'll just take prices off Mushkin's site:

1GB PC3200 DDR Level 1 Dual Pack (2x512) [2-3-2] @ $ 328.00
1GB PC3500 DDR Level 1 Dual Pack (2x512) [2-3-3] @ $ 347.00
1GB PC3200 DDR 222 Dual Pack (2x512) Special-new product [2-2-2] @ $ 393.00

Will the slightly lower specs be even noticeable?

I found the most recent overclockers guide, and decided to try the system. Problem is the thermalright SLK-947U heatsink will not fit on the abit nf7-s Rev.2 motherboard? After noticing this on the install, I went to the manufacturer?s website and it states the same thing. Anyone want to but a spanking new SLK-947U heatsink? Anyone have any suggestions to an alternative that will fit? Thanks.

Anyone familiar with an SATA driver problem, it gives the error that the driver is bad because of "Invalid Data"

I'm getting this error after trying to upgrade the driver's to the new version off of Windows Update. Now every time I remove the device, or uninstall the drivers, I cannot get this device to be recognized because even the old drivers (that worked a few minutes ago) now say "Invalid Data."

At least I don't have any SATA devices hooked up But I hate seeing that yellow exclamation mark in dev manager

All those prices look outrageous to me. I'd go with something like Kingston HyperX.

I had some HyperX 2-3-2 (CH-5) and it worked well. Then I switched to some HyperX 2-2-2 (BH-5). UT2003 Botmatch benchmark improved by 2 FPS, which is the equivalent of 100 cpu MHz.

And you won't see any difference between 2-3-2 and 2-3-3

I'm having trouble getting past 220FSB on my Rev2.0 motherboard. Anyone else having these problems? If so how do you fix it?

220-230 is about how far most of them go.

No problems having my MX300 recognized, what USB ports are they hooked up to (mobo or bracket)?

I've now had 2 different USB mice (both M$) hooked up to my NF7-S Rev 2.0 with no problems. I've used both of the USB plugs on the back of the motherboard not one on a bracket.

Used both USB headers and the bracket. No problems so far.

USB Laser Printer, MX700/Keyboard combo, Memory card reader.

Hey, I forgot that I put my CF card reader on one of the bracket USB sockets. No problem there either.
