I think this board deserves its' own "official" thread. I'm surprised one does not already exist considering that Anandtech tested this board a while back and got 667FSB and DDR439 speeds. However, this is not the limitation of the PX845PEVPRO.

I am very happy with this board and its OC ability:

Preliminary OC:
2.4BGHz C1 @ 2.7GHZ 150x18
512MB DDR400 Corsair XMS RAM timings set at 2 5 2 2 VDIMM @ 2.6V running @ 400MHz

This is just my preliminary OC. Running prime95 today and will OC further and post tomorrow. I plan on OC'ing up to 3GHZ which would be 170x18 = 3.06GHz. I am confident this board and proccesor can handle it because of the many people I have seen with signatures of their oc claiming +3GHz.

Tomorrow's OC will be:
170x18 = 3.06GHz which means the FSB will be 680MHz and my RAM will be running at about 450MHz or 425MHz depending on the mode (2.5 or 2.66), hopefully with the same timings.
I want to keep the same timings and will therfore use the memory as my OC constraint.

Edit:
The next day:

Was able to OC up to 2.88GHz, keeping the 2 5 2 2 timings, but for now that is the limit due to elcheapo PSU. Ran prime95 for 10hrs 12min without error. After I get new PSU the quest shall continue.

Edit II:
The next next day

After scrapping the elcheapo PSU that came with my elcheapo case I was able to OC more.
The results:

168x18 = 3.024GHz @100F idle/ 116F load
2 5 2 2 RAM timings

Was not able to boot when I went to 169x18 with the aggressive timings. So, in keeping with my original statments the RAM timings have governed my OC and I have pushed the envelope to its limit. When I lowered the RAM timings to 2.5 7 3 3 I was able to get 179x18 = 3.222GHz....but I prefer the faster RAM settings.

Oh, and of course I ran prime95 for 17Hrs......no errors

Fellow PX845PEVPRO owners feel free to post those fantastic OC results of yours

I'm running 2.4B C1 @ 3.06, 512MB of Samsung PC3200 @ DDR425 2,5-3-3-6.

Chip goes higher but I'll stick with stock cooling. This is the cheapest deal i remember. Top notch performance for an unbeatable price till next gen. ddr2 is available.

Question: is there a patch to adjust SDRAM Command rate on an Intel PE board? WCPREDIT maybe?

I just built a pc for someone with this motherboard. Its excellent. I did a slight overclock on it with a 2.4 C1. Its fast and stable. And the onboard sound ain't to shabby either.

Great motherboard... Running a 2.4b SL6RZ 3.24 (180*18) at default vcore 1.525. Running great and stable for the last 8 days. Using xms3500 for a very fast gaming system...

Only nag is for temp sensors that need to be adjusted in Speedfan and MBM...

Using mbm do you set cpu sensor to diode 2 ?? and add 15C to get the correct temperature ?

I just ordered this board. Should get here tomorrow if I'm lucky. Can't wait, this P4S533 is a flaming peice of crap imo. I will miss the asus chick though... Oh well, I'll call it a good trade off for some stability. I'll post my thoughts on it when I get it up and running.

I received this board along with a P4 2.4 C1 last week. Oh, and a 512 stick of Crucial pc2700. Had it up and running very quickly with a new 80 & 120 gig seagate hard drives. Running everything at defaults right now. Runs great. Thinking about o'c it soon ad maybe getting a gig of "better" ram.

Highly recommend this board!

Hiyas all. I'm putting my new P4/Albatron together and need some help with the silly front panel connectors. The manual states that pins 2 and 4 are for the Power LED connector but the connector on my case (Antec SLK3700AMB) is needs 3 pins. That seems to throw all the others out of whack by leaving only a single pin (8) leftover for the Power SW connector.

Any ideas?
TIA

That is a PITA. Some cases come with that connector spread in a 3 pin config (like mine). Some mobos have the power LED in two pins next to each other, some have them split with an empty pin in between. What I did was carefully use a razor knife and score the connector down the middle and seperate it into two seperate connectors. This way it will work on either type of mobo.

Ok, got this board along with the 2.53 I got from frys up and running friday. Stable stable stable. I've got my chip at 3.23 (default vcore 1.5) right now and I haven't had a single issue with this thing. Voltages seem much more stable and within spec than my other board. Not a single random reboot, hard lock, bsod, etc despite tons of stress testing. All problems that I encountered at one time or another with my old board. My only complaint is the led connectors mentioned above. Power and reset button work but the power led and hdd led don't. Trying to decide if I care enough to go screwing with those plugs again. Overall the best 83 bucks I ever spent so far.

Yup, looks like that's what I'm gonna have to do. Thanks.

Other than that, everything is running great. No trouble at all, booted first time without a hitch--well, minus one "burp" because I had the hard drive jumper set wrong but once I figured that out it was smooth as butter...

Does anyone know anything about the PX845PEV Pro Rev.800? I saw it on the Albatron site but there's not much info. I wonder if this is a new board, or just a new bios that supports FSB 800.

Yes, it does. Running solid for a few weeks now. Got it up and running on the first try.

One thing: if you use DIMM2 and DIMM3 slots at the same time you must use single-sided memory. Is this normal? Who sells single-sided memory? Everything I get from Crucial is always double.

Thanks Guildboss.
I decided to get the PX845PEV Pro II mb because it has bios mirror among other things, including the fact that I could not find the FSB800 mb for sale anywhere yet. FSB 800 is only really useful if you have a chip with FSB 800. And if I ever do buy a FSB800 P4, any of these mb's can be oc'd to FSB 200 x 4=800 anyway. For now my P4 2.4 FSB533 is plenty fast for what I do, and I prob will be able to oc it at least to FSB 150 from what I have read about this mb.
