I wanted to see some results with Ryzen. So I google Ryzen's discussion and created two posts in two largest discussions. That is all )
Yes but .ru sources tend to throw up big red flags and you're asking about putting Ryzen in a laptop. Hence no one believes you.

My English isn't good. Now I have Asus laptop with i7-3610qm and SSD. But I want to buy more powerfull desktop with Ryzen or top i7 CPU. But first I'd like to see: what result will I get in multithread processing on Ryzen.
And what's wrong with all the other multithreaded application tests available on all Ryzen reviews over the last month?

To be fair, that's what I assumed you meant. Your OP was just poorly worded.

Regarding your source code, including the UI or the whole solution would be better so people can easily inspect the whole thing in VS rather than just looking at the text.

EDIT: anyway, when posting as an unknown and expecting people to run the code, linking to an EXE is not a good idea. A link to archive containing your full project, (maybe) the compiled .EXE, and your *.testdata" would be a lot more likely to get a response.

No idea what size your *.testdata is, but isn't IO and the amount of RAM as important for this bench as the CPU?

for those looking for multiplayer type comparisons between Ryzen & Intel

Here is one focused on Black Desert Online with a Ryzen 1700X @ 3.8 & Intel 6700K @ 4.8

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZcCqnE5mRw&#t=2m42s

skip to 5:30 if you want to look at the comparison between multiplayer combat

my interpretation of the video is that the 6700K oftentimes has a higher framerate than the 1700X but the video comparison appears to show 1700X offering a more smoother gaming experience despite the lesser framerate

I've seen this a lot and many reviewers have anecdotally added that Ryzen feels "smoother" but what is it that we're actually seeing or how can it be measured? The only thing I can immediately think of is that its more consistent frame times where Ryzen has less variation, whereas an Intel chip might give you more fast frames, but occasionally has one that comes out much slower and produces this sensation.

Has anyone studied this supposed effect in any detail? Normally it's the kind of thing that sets off the alarm on the BS detector, but to have so many reviewers report it anecdotally suggests that there may be something worth investigating.

I know I don't stream and I rarely, if ever, watch them. So it's not like they are targeting those scenarios for me. But if those streamers with their own advertising meat adopt this, the only chip that is now relevant to their needs, then this is what they will be advertising to their fans.
I'm a big twitch viewer, and I cant really stand to watch hitching/jittery, 30ishFPS or frequently artifacting streams which is pretty commonplace. sometimes it's just the person's internet, but I've seen a lot of subpar streams that are 6700k/7700k users.

Just last night someone on said 6700k was trying to stream the new indie game Deceit. The stream was dropping frames like crazy and losing audio sync and they said the cpu usage was spiking. They tried a bunch of things before giving up and streaming something else. I was thinking the whole time that ryzen probably would have managed it all like a champ.

Yeah but huge disclaimer is bclk overclock to 120 mhz. That opens a whole other can of worms like only pcie 2.0 speed. So no, that doesn't really count.

Maybe it doesn't to you, but it counts to many others. It shows what will be possible in the near future with updates planned for May. Besides, running PCIe 2.0 on single GPU has virtually no penalty, through I admit, M.2 PCIe storage will suffer or not work at all.

It wouldn't matter if it were 10 minutes, 10 hours, or 10 seconds if you post a link to something you should probably summarize it.

If it were a written article I'd also expect a (useful) summary. The video linked is just a yes/no question. That's not useful, excepting the fact that I assume any yes/no questions in titles always have 'no' for the answer.

Because you know what's less than 10 minutes? Actually answering the question with a 'yes' or 'no'.

There's less money in it.

Yeah I know, but would it kill them to do a print-based complement or transcript of their videos? I don't come on the 'net to slow down my consumption of information. Some dude hamming it up in front of his webcam does not help me learn things any faster than before. Talk about technological regression.

There are a few cases where video's advantages are obvious, such as delid videos or lapping videos. That stuff is harder to explain through text and/or static images.

Summary : Except for Rise of the Tomb Raider, in most games the Ryzen 7 (at 4GHz w 3600 CL16 RAM) and i7 7700 (5 GHz w 3600 CL16 RAM) are pretty capable and trade blows here and there.

In Rise of the Tomb Raider, there's something really weird going on, with Ryzen really slower by about 30%....But that game also barely taxes the GPU (70% Utilization) so there's something unexplained going on.

Thank you.
