Summary : Except for Rise of the Tomb Raider, in most games the Ryzen 7 (at 4GHz w 3600 CL16 RAM) and i7 7700 (5 GHz w 3600 CL16 RAM) are pretty capable and trade blows here and there.
You do understand that there is no 5Ghz 7700k in the article you are making summary of, rofl?

Hey, I sincerely dont have time for TROLL games. I'm sorry if you misunderstood my reply. It was my reply to the video link to a youtube review of the Ryzen 7. Thank you.

This was the post I replied to, by richierich1212 Official AMD Ryzen Benchmarks, Reviews, Prices, and Discussion

Then later on others lamented the loss of a "summary".... SO I gave a summary. I hope this clarifies your misunderstanding lolfail9001

Simple enough - RYZEN 1700X + 3600MHZ RAM + a GTX 1080 Ti. All of this versus a 5GHz 7700K. And this marks the end of my Ryzen 7 benchmarking for a while. I will come back to this once something meaningful changes - either some bulk game updates that change performance, or Windows patches or EFIs etc.

Misunderstanding cleared, i guess.

So should i, when they finally add native 3600mhz multiplier, and ITX boards to make use of it.

A very good showing for Ryzen even with the handicap in wide vector-SIMD applications. Looks like Naples would be right at home running web servers, given the strong .NET and Java performance.
Nice results and especially good when they come directly from Sisoftware. This is very good news to AMD as the server market brings more profit to the table. Also the two channel memory limit will probably disappear when AMD announces their actual server hardware which will in current knowledge have four memory channels at least. If the software licensing is based on cores then Intel can have an advantage but in other cases more capacity/memory in the same hardware, with smaller price, with small TDP should open many doors for AMD.

This looks like an official Ryzen 5 1600 benchmarking/testing result, from a purely work-station & Linux system benchmarking standpoint. Most of the reviews are done against Xeon Processors (and other Ryzens)

They also have a review of the Ryzen 5 1400 (4C/8T) but they werent as impressed by it, because they were comparing it to $240 Xeon 4C/8T CPUs.... It is surely not a top workstation CPU like other Ryzens.

In case it helps anyone, AMD is apparently doing a big BIOS update tomorrow to allow broad support of 3200 Mhz RAM. This is from their recent AMA:

"Ram is improving all the time. We have a huge BIOS update enabling 3200 MHz DDR4 that should hit most boards April 11th, and another one scheduled for May."

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3378010/join-tom-hardware-amd-thursday-april-6th/page-3.html

This is probably why Gigabyte just updated a bunch of boards since it's 4/11 over there.

Yeah I just installed mine and my ram speed dropped from 2933 to 2400.... I hope there's another one they're talking about. This update was for AGESA 1.0.0.4a.

Lol, running Prime and Heaven concurrently. That's a real stress test haha.

Dresdenboy's two results show the same timings but the ones in that image have different timings as well as noticeable differences in write and copy bandwidth...
True, however even with those timings the latency wouldn't be anywhere near as good. That's the lowest I've ever seen Ryzen go aside from Dresdenboy's result.

I just tested on an Asus b350 plus with the new AGESA and got 86.4 ns with 2666 MHz, 16-18-18-35 RAM.

The before SS is well bellow where it should be and the L1$ numbers are off too. A normal result would be at about 80ns.
The after SS is more in line with others, one example in the Ryzen builders thread http://www.portvapes.co.uk/?id=Latest-exam-1Z0-876-Dumps&exid=threads/amd-ryzen-builders-thread.2499342/page-121#post-38838281
66.6ns with the RAM at 3200 16-16-16-36 CR1 on an Asus Prime.
There are however some odd bandwidth numbers recently with AIDA where folks get higher than theoretical so there might be some bugs somewhere.

So is the 1600X launching today? It was April 11th iirc?

Will we see some new reviews for that?

Funny how when SKL/KBL is being discussed in terms of RAM speed people say "it needs fast RAM to shine", but when Zen is under the RAM spotlight the angle goes towards "it needs fast RAM to fix a design flaw", even though gains from fast RAM are likely comparable on both platforms.

While we do know fast RAM does help Zen with it's internal comm structure, how does one isolate these gains from the inherent gains fast RAM delivers in gaming anyway?
Hi coercitiv from the past, it's you from the present. Folks at Hardware Unboxed were kind enough to test RAM speeds in gaming for both 1800X and 7700K and found that as far as memory frequency is concerned "Ryzen scales fairly typical compared to Kaby Lake 7700K".
