He was absolutely abysmal the other week yet he was safe.

I want Blake in the finals. I can't stand Melinda. It's just that almost everybody I talk to IRL and online thinks it will be an all girl final. I want it to be Blake and Jordin though.

I thought for sure it'd be melinda and one of the others, with Jordin probably a small edge ahead of Blake. Beside indian boy lasing so long, by far the biggest surprise of the voting.


Melinda as always the most polished singer, though I found blake the most entertaining and jordin is good but needs a little more work to really be professional.


Should be an interesting final show.

talk about a major upset. i thought (hoped anyway) that Melinda would make it to the finale, but i guess not. she was the most consistent one of all the contestants. Jordin can sing slow songs really well, but the fast-paced ones aren't anything spectacular. Blake has a niche with beatboxing to his songs and he's a decent singer. Melinda & Lakisha will sell more records/CDs after this whole thing anyway.

Not watching next week. It is a singing contest, but it always ends up being a popularity contest. Wait 2 years and it will be Melinda doing the career thing.

Blake's awesome personality is why Melinda is gone. Melinda's deer in the headlights look, although she had been trying to curb that, was such a turnoff.

and don't cry for her, she'll do just as well, likely better, than if she'd won.

I've said from the beginning that Melinda would do well but would not win it. She doesn't have the charisma, personality, or looks. Jordin is not as good as singer but is more appealing to the people voting b/c she is young, cute, and has a bubbly personality. Blake is just very entertaining in my opinion and I'm glad he made it. At least it's something different. There is of course little doubt that Melinda will make an album and it will sell quite well.

Does anyone know if all of the contestents are someone tied to American Idol when negotiating contracts and record deals, or just the winner? If this frees her from having to give x% to AI, this might be a good deal for her in the long run.

I was rather surprised that Melinda got voted off. Not the best looking by far, but the strongest voice of the bunch, and the most comfortable on stage. Blake's ok, but just ok, (He should have gone instead of Phil) and Jordin, while being the better looking contestant (of who is left) still needs a lot of work to be commercial enough to be a big seller. She does have a nice voice however, and with the right songs, should win easily next week. (I gotta wonder if "vote for the worst" is still having an effect on the weekly voting)
