That first performance from Haley was just flat horrible. That was just screaming. Although I'm sure zinfamous will come in and tell us it was transcendent and that we just don't get it. She was much better on her second song though.

Really though, I'm not all that impressed with any of them. In two years we'll be saying "Whatever happened to Lauren/Scotty/James/Haley?" just like the Kris Allen, David Cook, David Archuleta, Jason Castro, Casey James, Allison Iraheta, and Danny Gokey's of the world.

agree with Lauren. it's obvious Scotty is going to have a significant country following.

with Haley & James, both have the vocal talent and James is a good performer, but it's going to be dependent on their producers/song writers.

anyways, out of the remaining 4, imo Haley is the best singer and James is the best performer.

Scotty will make it through because of his huge teenage girl following, and I think James will as well due to his song performances which leaves Lauren and Haley.

I want Haley to make it through and it'll be a shame if she doesn't make it. I'm pretty sure despite all the criticisms she's received from Randy/J Lo through practically the entire season, she's also received the most standing Os/best song of the nights from the judges.

yep. I thought James was good--but it was the same level the entire song. certainly not his best, not his worst. just kinda...boring. He killed the final song though. Loved it.

Haley wasn't my favorite of hers for the first song--I thought it was sitll very good, but I agree with the "screaminess" that they criticzed her for. Didn't ahve the control that she normally has. She certainly didn't deserve the bullshit they gave her. Fucking ridiculous. She nailed You and I last week--freaking fantastic song, she did it better than I've heard Gaga do it, it was better than her final song, and they gave her shit. Fuck these judges. holy hell.

Her final song was the best of the night, imo. I don't get it though--they love the hell out of it, don't seem to care that not a single god damn voter this show will recognize ANY of those second tunes, but they bitch at her for doing a very well-known Gaga song--who is as current as you can get--but it is obscure b/c it isn't a single?

Scotty is awesome, though. I love that guy. I hope he doesn't win, cause he's too good for this shit. I can't say I'm interested in seeing him week to week, because you always know what he's gonna do and it's gonna be solid--he's the closest to pro out there--but I just don't care. :\

hehe, well, I already mentioned that it wasn't my favorite. I thought it was solid, just not that good. Rolling in the Deep/You and I were downright perfect, though. Hard for her to top those performances. Has anyone listened to the studio recordings? I rarely do that b/c they tend to be over-produced, but with Haley, at least, they haven't touched her voice. outstanding, really. what can I say, I like her's more than Adele, lol.

I thought she was fine, but my main criticism is that it was the song that Haley should have song. Lauren simply doesn't have the balls for those words. During the rehearsal clips, she sang 2 lines and it struck me immediately--this is Haley's song! wtf is this?

Haley is a great singer. Her problem is that she isn't a great performer. She can sing a song really well but can't sell it. Contrast that to Scotty or James who, even when they don't sing well, still do a decent job of selling the song to the audience. If Haley knew how to sell a performance she would be unbeatable. Unfortunately she may be going home because of that weakness.

Well vote for the worst is backing up Haley. They haven't been extremely successful this year, but anything helps. Not because she was bad but simply because it was so obvious the judges were trying to fuck her over.
