I'm using a Version 2.0 A7N8X Deluxe, I wasn't aware you need the real tech driver as isn't it just doing the Digital to Analouge Conversion? and isn't the NForce DSP processing everything but this conversion?
So if I install the Real tech driver will I nead to reload the Nforce sound drivers or Have to use Realtech's? and will realtechs driver take advantage of the MCT-T? any further suggestions would be great

Whoa, I just noticed that there is a new bios for the A7N8X series. 1006 Final was released on 8/20. There hasn't been an update since May. I'm downloading it now. Peace.

Hi all!
I just purchased this motherboard from newegg with a Barton 2500+ chip and a bunch of goodies. I'm not sure if this has been addressed, I tried to read through all of the thread but I might have missed it.
Is it worth it to pry off the chipsink heatsink and put some thermal compound on the sucker? Also, I have two sticks of 512 MB Corsair RAM. A previous thread said to take advantage of that dual ram thing (forget the name) I should plug both into the blue slots. Is this correct? Thanks a ton

I can't flash my BIOS from 1005 to 1006. The Asus Update program says it doesn't match. Do I have to use AWDFlash? It's a huge pain in the ass to find and connect a floppy drive.

Another question, I apologize if its been answered before, but I hadn't found anything in the first 8 pages of the forum, I'll continue to check the next 9...
I want to install Windows XP on a Serial ATA drive. Unfortunately, Windows XP doesn't detect the drive during the installation process, and when I try to specify a third party "SCSI or other type" driver, it asks for a floppy, which I dont have. I do have the motherboard cd which supposedly has serial ata drivers on it.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get windows to recognize the serial ATA drive?
