Well, on the odd chance that those 3 "extra" persons who ordered it at $201 are told that it is out of stock or that they have to pay $299, don't you believe it. If they have it at $299, then they have it for you/we who ordered it last night, and at the price we ordered it for. $201 is not a typo or a price mistake. It's MSRP and what was intended. Novapcs simply misjudged demand and apparently didn't check to see what others were trying to gauge consumers for. I know this seems fairly obvious, but we consistently get questions about what vendors can and can't do, so I thought I'd try to short cut the process.

Now, for anyone who didn't order it last night, you're out of luck, at least until supply increases and prices come down.

So how the heck did an outfit like Nova get a hold of these boards, seemingly first?
I took a look through their website and their business looks like it's run out of an ex-garage.
Hope you folks get yours; I'll keep a looking.

I just called too, and the guy told me that if I place my order yesterday, I would get it. They would send them out today. He said that ppl who ordered today WON'T get it.

Apparently they're getting lots of calls from ppl asking the same question

Now, I am hoping that my board will get here fast and in working condition, and that I won't have any probs with it. From what I've heard/read so far about Nova PC's, their support is not that great. As soon as anybody got their tracking number, please let us know.

I called Nova on my lunch and it took 15 minutes to communicate my situation with the guy I got, and at the end of the call I came to understand that I got one of the boards, that it will ship today, and I should get my tracking number at the end of the day today.

It seems to me like this is just a small PC-building warehouse that happened to get a bunch of them in, and none of the employees really know about them or want one. What I would imagine is happening right now is that the boards are coming in at the major sellers like Newegg and Zipzoomfly, and the employees and their friends and families are getting the first crack at the inventory.

The SLI boards were supposed to be hitting stores around now, so I would assume that what is happening. The employees get their boards at MSRP, minus their discount, and then they put whatever is left on sale for 150% of the MSRP in such limited supply that they sell them despite price gouging.

I hope that everything pans out with Nova and that I helped a few of you get a board without getting screwed. They clearly didn't realize what they had, and now that the price is up to $300, they clearly do.

The worst case scenario is that we don't get the board, putting us in the same position we were in 24 hours ago. They can't charge us (and keep) $299, so I'm not worried about that. On behalf of myself, and presumably everyone else here who ordered last night, I thank you Suave 3747 for pointing me to the deal.

I've been hawking the forums and sniffing around trying to snag one of these boards for some time. I just happened to see your post. I ordered at 10:32 EST. I haven't received email confirmation of my order. Just hope I'm one of the lucky 20.

I'm not worried, as I posted earlier I've bought from them before (NEC 3500A) and it was shipped well packed and quickly. And they have nearly 15,000 positive feedbacks on Ebay.

BTW. If they ship out the board today, and use Fedex 2nd day, does that mean the boards will reach us on Saturday? Or does FedEx not deliver on Saturdays for this type of service, and we'll have to wait until Monday?

Two more things:

I am wondering if the board supports a 20-pin ATX connector (I want to use the Antec True380S from my Sonata case). I've read on several sites, and the ASUS press release, that it SHOULD work, and that EZ-Plug helps with it.

However, I just read through the manual and they don't mention it at all. What gives?

Also, the manual states that Corsair ValueSelect 512MB RAM is not supported in a dual channel config of 1GB (2x512MB), however it is supported in a 2GB config (4x512MB).

That seems kinda strange to me. Does anybody have more info on that?

I talked to someone at Nova and they said they would honor the $199 price though they still haven't processed my order. AT this point I'm not going to get my hopes up, but would also like to thank Suave for the link!

On the power supply question, I'm wondering the same thing I have an Antec 550 true control 20pin. I read one review where they used the same 20pin PS that I have in their test setup (can't find it at the moment) so it must work but how? How do you plug a 20pin into a 24pin socket? which pins do you leave open? Or do you have to have an adapter?

I've got my tracking number!!! When I clicked order status, it said "NOT SHIPPED". On that same page, I clicked my order number and there it was in the notes:

Estimated delivery: Dec 13, 2004 by 7:00 PM (That rules out Saturday service to the person who asked)

I ordered at 12:30AM (night time.. Conan O'Brian just came on) EST

I'd like to but I still have to buy RAM, CPU and Video Card. I'm waiting on a 6800GT so who knows the timeframe I can actually get the system running... (I'm sure others will be in the same situation too... at least video card wise)
