$339! OUCH! I also have to wonder how they have four boards when nobody else has any?
Preproduction review boards? Anybody have any experience buying from Xtreme Gear?

Good luck to that moron.

I believe the manufacturers and retailers are running a scam here. They're intentionally putting out only a handful of boards at a time instead of doing one big flush so that they can demand prices 50%+ above MSRP because of the "tight" supply.

People must have money to burn...this same thing happened 2 years ago right around this time of the year, only it was the SINXP1394 everyone was drooling for...please don't give your money away like that, it only encourages these gougers. I would like to think that as a whole we're all just a little bit more intelligent then that...$339 dollars is such a rip-off it isn't even funny. I guess if you have that kind of money more power to ya. It's sort of ironic though, AMD was always the under-dog who offered the best bang for the buck...I guess being top dog raises the price to a premium. Anyhow, if I remember correctly, prices for the SINXP1394 dropped considerably by mid January. I still say that $230 will be the norm for these boards...I guess we'll soon see. I'll be waiting for the DFI version personally...but, you never know, I'll let these vendors produce their wares and buy according to real world reviews. Anyone live in the Orient...lucky buggers!

Well, here's the link I gave earlier....it's still at $276 and only for pre-order, Hurry up and buy as many as you can (so the price comes down by mid January when I'll be buying one at $100 less with the updated bios/bugs worked out...) There's a saying and it goes like this, "A fool and his money are soon separated."

When you preorder from any of those sites do they have some sort of guaruntee that you will actually get a motherboard in that first shipment? Or is it just luck of the draw?

Edit: By the way, I can't bring up the www.buyxg.com website anymore. Anyone else having problems with that?

personally, i'm just gonna wait till zipzoomfly has theirs available. They are backordered, but they are only asking $225 for the board. Not great, but i can live with a $25 markup. Besides, from the looks of it, the Ultras are gonna be around $190 anyways, so I might as well go ahead and get SLI for $35 more.

Most of you people want this board asap. hehe I would wait like a month so problems can be solved. You don't want to be to first to not play Half Life, because of some problem. See how other boards go, and there will be better reviews. The price problem is going to be the same as how the 6800 comes out, prices are sky high and after like 2 months you can get it at retail price. Wait if you can wait.

I can't wait (my winter vacation only comes once/year)... I'm banking on the fact that the board is really just a "refresh" of the nf3 (as Anand pointed out) and that problems will be zero to minimal... Also, the AT/Toms reviews should be out soon and give us a better idea... Finally, there's always the option to RMA...

I hope you are kidding! Have no fear! You can't go wrong with a mobo from ASUS. They are highly reputable!

good luck rebel

but what a joke, gameve is selling the a8nSLI-deluxe for $299 which is overpriced by about $100 and they say that the retail price is $350 and that the buyer is saving 15% through them. isnt that false advertising?

I don't think Nforce4 SLI boards are worth buying until Geforce6800GT PCIe is also (genuinely) available for real ordering. 6600s just don't quite cut it.

Some of us unfortunately can't wait... I've got to have a computer before Jan. 1st when I go back to school, so I will be praying for the prices to come down about 1-2 weeks before then. I will also be hoping for an MSI motherboard... as while probably the most buggy at normal speeds I think MSI makes great boards for overclocking.

well, it's clear that the mobo is already shipping, since there was a site yesterday that had 16 for sale @ $300 apiece, and they sold out immediately. Still, this is good news.

sound's like you're in quite a pickle... as for the non-SLI boards, I would have thought the gigabyte one would be here by now, but i'm not sure. The MSI Ultra board is backordered at ZZF as well, but at $190, it seems silly not to just go for the Asus SLI board. Hopefully it will hit closer to $150 in a few weeks, at which point it starts to look more appealing against the SLI. However, if you're overpaying $20 for an SLI board or $40 for an ultra, and the price difference is only $30, then I'd rather just go for the top of the line SLI and have it for bragging rights. Besides, it gives you a nice upgrade path, from nvidia and in the future ATI.
