Did you choose either "Output digital only" or "Output digital and analog" under the S/PDIF setting of the audio driver?

Is there anything better at the same price range or as good at a lower price?

Nexus 400w rans fine for me, it's about how much stuff you have connected. I have 6600gt, dvdrw-drive, sata hd, ata hd, soundcard, cpu(3500+), one 120mm case cooler, and of course two usb gaming pads, serial phone link, usb camera. I don't have floppy drive..

got it to finally work.. simple solution -- I just had to reboot

When I installed the Realtek drives, it told me to reboot. But I ignored it because I was in the middle of doign some stuff. This was one of those ocassions that rebooting actually was required

SailorGuy-
You could try un/reinstall of C and Q.
And I believe it conflicts with AI Booster. You have to uninstall one of them and disable it in the BIOS as well.

Hello, I own a A8N-SLI (non Deluxe) and i am experiencing evil bsods, like other people i've read about, due to the ethernet driver. The error i get is a DRIVER_IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, caused by NVTcp.sys. This happens randomly, with eMule or Azureus running mostly (but this only an educated guess...). Going back to the nforce drivers provided with my mobo (in the readme i read Ethernet NRM driver version 4.59 (WHQL) with 4.62 nvtcp.sys) did not work for me, as i've read it did for other guys with same problem. I did not change any of the stock ethernet driver settings, and the Firewall is disabled cause i have an hardware one (can this have any significance in these lockups?). The other devices drivers are all updated to latest and windows XP SP2 is installed and patched. Can please someone enlighten me with a solution? I get no problem playing and working but for downloads my comp is simply useless right now.
thanks

My config:
Athlon 64 3000+
ASUS A8N-SLI
1GB RAM (2x512MB)
Geforce 6600 GT Sparkle
Soundblaster Audigy 2 (MOBO onboard audio is disabled)
HDD 80 & 160 Maxtor ATA-133

Have you installed network access manager? New version gives me bsod's. Even when firewall disabled from it.

Yeah, but I decided not to use network access manager and uninstalled it. No problems anymore, that problem is there just with 4.62 version nework access manager installed. Uninstall it and you'll do fine

And I had this problem just when downloading with bitcomet(torrent software).

The situation now is that i've been running emule and azureus for over 2 hours without the much feared bsod. I am quite confident that the problem is solved. Thank you very much Shaga!

I just did what Shaga told me and removed the nForce networking utility. That did the trick, or at least i think so cause i had no crashes during all day with emule and bittorrent going

Hello,
I have a small problem related to standby and monitor shutdown.
When i go into standby, it frequently bsods, and if it doesnt, when i launch a 3d app afterwards it locks up. The error on the blue screen is something to the effect of nv4_disp has entered an infinite loop.

This only happens in sli mode, everything works perfectly in non sli. Running 66.93 drivers, tried 71.81 from guru, but had compatability problems with some games (coh).
Not a power issue, tried with 550w dual rail 12v 18amps, and with a single rail 550w 34amp same problem.

Overclocked, but exhibits the same problem when im running everything at stock, incl memory.

Again everything runs great, prime 95 all day and all games run great but when im in sli mode, standby and monitor shutdown dont work.
Is this a known issue with sli?

Hi Apologies if I've written to wrong thread.

I have just bought most of the bits i need for new games PC.

6800gt, corsair twinx 1024xlpro, asus nf4 sli delux etc...

Anyway I was putting it all togeter last night and discovered that my psu (EZCool 550) does not have a 24pin main power connector (only 20pins).... Built a few pcs in the last few years and never noticed this. Any ideas what sort of psu i need and why my current one would not be right?? I thought any reasonable PSU would do the job but alas not.

Only other outstanding bit is my cpu. Looking at 3500 but still about £180...run out of money after buying the rest of the kit :-( Ahh well maybe next month.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

The power supply may be OK look for threads on how to use the 20 pin on 24 pin board.

as far as CPU goes, look at the 3000+ som eof them are clocking as high as 3500+'s

Alright, I posted here on this before with no answer. Took a couple weeks trying various remedies with no success. Just hoping for some direction.
After I installed the Zalman northbridge heatsink, I lost my sec. IDE.
Changed cables, reloaded bios, updated to 1004final, reinstalled windows (not for this reason, but worth a mention), cleared CMOS.
Nothing will bring it back. When installing the heatsink, I kept the PSU plugged in, but turned of the switch. I left he mobo plugged to the PSU. The mobo sat on the my case while doing the install, with a anti-static bag between them.
Any ideas what could cause this? RMA time? ?

I had the excact same problem after install of zalman heatsink...tried 4 a week to get secondary channel back...ended up rma'ing board...omly explaination i've heard is maybe as5 sqeezed out onto n/b chip and shorted a bridge...i used very little and didnt notice any on chip when i replaced fan to rma
anyone else have this prob or ideas
i would still like to run zalman when new board comes and hope to figure this one out
thanks guys
great problem solving forum

After I changed the ram from Viking DDR400 to
Corsair CMX512-3200C2, A week ago my system has not crashed.
I used Clock Gen to Tweak. Because it seems to do what it says.
Ntune NvMonitor Gui got corrupted prior to the new ram it would be nice to have working.
I have tried re-installing Ntune Plus I used a reg cleaner but I still get back the same corrupted Gui I think it could be I corrupted some kind of help program in windows but which one I think Ntune is Written in XML.

I think I could get more out of this Box but I am taking things slow.

So everyone has been abel to get in and out of standby in sli mode with a dvi monitor?
Oh forgot to mention my display, 2001fp.

kki000 - You are not alone as I have this same issue.

If I leave the computer on for an extended period time and the monitor goes into standby or powers off. After the monitor "wakes up" whenever I launch any 3D games, like CS:Souce it just hangs. requireing a reboot. Never have any problems unless the copmputer is left idling for extended periods of time.

I have tried numerous drivers with no change, this is mostly just an annoyance for me since I typically shut off the SLI rig off when not in use.

Hello Everyone,
I'm a newbie here,
so bear with me.

Recently put together a fx 53/6800gt/a8n system.
BUT, it just won't work...

mostly, I get a scrambled screen fill of multi colored
lines... this is random. Sometimes the colors change,
sometimes it stays on the screen is first shows, and
freezes (I guess), sometimes it changes to a bright lined
screen, and beeps 6 times... sometimes it shows the
actual bios screen... sometimes it doesn't screw up
after I hit delete. When I do get into bios, (the rare
times I have) it recognizes the ram, cpu, shows a 29c
temp cpu (sweet), but it doesn't recognize my O/S
HDD, but it does rec. the slave one. When I tried replacing
the controller cable, it stopped working again.

I've searched and searched, but it seems I'm the only
one who's had this happen. Now, I *think* it is the damned
MoBo, but I can't figure out what makes this so damned random.

Please help?

Actually it sounds like the video. Are you sure your connection from the 6800 to your monitor is tight? Loose connections or bent pins could cause this.

My HTPC running MCE 2005 (essentially just WinXP Pro) that I built around my Asus A8N-SLI is getting the infamous "Blue screen of death" when I return from S3 Standby. The exact stop message i get is "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION".

When I return from suspend, I actually see windows UI, networking gets restored, but after about 3-4 seconds, I crash.

I looked up this stop message online and it indicates that it's likely a hardware problem. I did a bunch of diagnostics of my machine and thought it might be my ram. Everythign checked out fine.

I pulled my TV tuner card, an Evga dual tuner, and that was causing the problem. When the card isn't installed, I can awake from suspend without any trouble. As soon as the card is in, I crash.

Other people are using this tuner card in their HTPC and the company only has one version of their driver out (and I have that one installed). I can't help but think it's either a power problem (insufficient power?) or just an incompatibility between teh card and my system somehow.

Here are my specs:

Motherboard: Asus A8N-SLI
RAM: 1GB PQI PC3200 Dual Channel
CPU: AMD 3500+ Winchester
PS: Seasonic Super Tornado 400W
HD: Seagate 400GB UltraATA
DVDRW: NEC 3500a
Video: Evga (Nvidia) 6600GT PCI-Express

I can't imagine it's a power supply problem (insufficient power) as this is a pretty high quality power supply and my components shouldn't be drawing anywhere near the max power that it's capable of.

Anyone have any ideas?
