AMD 64 3400+
Asus K8V deluxe SE
Corsair DDR TwinX1024-3200LLPT 2X512MB
ATI Radeon 9800XT
WD SATA 160MB harddrive
The only problem is when booting the computer, there is about a 30 sec delay after it finishes detecting the harddrives and before it starts loading windows. It is annoying - anyone have any ideas?

Checked capacitors and as far as I can tell they are not RLZ 0333, but some are so close to processor I cannot read them. How did you guys get a good look at these?
IMO the capacitor issue sounds more serious than it really is

Algere, unless you have seen the bad capacitors i wouldn't be so fast underestimating the issue.
My first mobo had the bad capacitors and i can tell you it wasn't pretty at all, straight out of the box, 2 of said capacitors (the ones rigth by the cpu) were leaking.

If i were you i'd really take a peek at those capacitors to rule out the chance you got some of the bad stuff. In my mobo it was very easy to spot the bad ones has they were leaking through the top cap. Check yours for some signs of dirt on the metallic top cap.
best luck

Ops, sorry about the double post. My capacitors all look clean and all the ones where I can see numbers start with RLS not RLZ so hoping I am ok on this count.
Still getting "System Failed VGA on cold boot" Reset and then up and running without trouble. I am getting to hate that woman's voice, though.
I meant there's ppl saying stay away from the K8V-D because of bad capacitors when in reality this issue has only affected a small batch of motherboards

k, misunderstood you... sorry and i agree, the bad capacitor issue was surely only a prob with early batch of mobos

Sorry I posted at the other place by mistake.
My problem is:
Booting pauses for 20 seconds just after it starts to boot.
It takes about 15~20 seconds to recognize, I guess, my primary IDE disk. After that it is a breeze, very fast.
To explain more specifically, I have a VIA raid 0 setup for boot device and an WD200 hard drive in a primary master IDE channel for storage. If I unplug(disconnect) the WD hard disk, booting is very fast, not pausing for 20 seconds trying to find(locate or recognize) IDE drives(my WD hard disk).
If I reconnect the WD hard disk, booting pauses back for about 15~20 seconds just after I start the computer.
What should I do? Is there any way to boot without pausing for 20 seconds with my hard disk?
Thank you for your prompt reply.

I had the computer on for a couple hours and just as I was coming down stairs to use the computer I see the boot screen and it is halted at a message saying that no disk was detected, press g to continue. I'm fed up with this. I'm sending this motherboard back and waiting until the nforce3 250 boards are out. You can bet it won't be an ASUS board I'll buy either.
I'VE HAD IT!!!
