My WD, like yours, is an OEM product as well. I had no problems when I booted up the computer, and I'm pretty sure that even if there was a problem, the people at CC fixed it so that I would have no problems when I install Windows.

But, like I said, I don't think it will have any problems recognizing the hard drive. I'm not sure though since I'm not an expert at these things, but I'm confident that you'll be fine when you try to install Windows.

Hi to you all. It's my first post here but I have been active in other tech forums such as extreme tech for a while.

I own an M2-NE since late december 06 and I must say I am quite pleased. I did not do any over clocking yet but I stumbled on this forum in search of performance optimization ideas and solutions. I am usig this board to the max, having quite a stable relationship with it.

So far my only gripe has been that when trying to install vista with 4 x 1 gb ddr2 667 it blue screens on me. Any other os recognizes the 4 gb no problem. Any ideas?

Thanks and i see there is a lot of valuable info to be found here so i'll go on exploring this forum further.

What are you not sure of? The specs are right there, and in your sig.

Raise your vdimm to 1.95V in the BIOS. That's probably the reason why your comp isn't stable.

Hi everyone!

I've got an M2N-E too, and I don't have any serious issues with it, but (!) .. I can't get SATA II (3 Gb/s) mode. Only the SATA I (1.5 Gbps) :/

I have 4 identical Seagate 320GB Barracuda 7200.10 SATA II drive in a RAID0 array. Any advices, tips?

Oh and I'd the 1002 BIOS until today (now I've flashed the new 1102).

Hello,

Its sounds very strange, but my mobo soft boot and reboot problems disapier when i reconnect 3pin 12cm aftermarket CPU fan from 4 pin mobo connector to 3 - pin chasis connector. No more problems with reset or soft reset.

How the hell do I turn off the onboard audio on the M2N-E? I swear I have done searches on the internet, read through the manual and I can't find it anywhere. It seems my center channel / subwoofer connection to my motherboard has died and I want to put my audigy 2 sound card in and see if that fixes it. Someone said to turn off the usb audio in my bios, but I can't find that either.

Thx for any and all help.

In the BIOS there you can set the onboard AC97 controller to Disabled IIRC. Otherwise you may succeed with some applied srewdriver-theory

I don't see it in the bios. The only thing I see in the bios is: Front Panel Support Type [AC97]. My configure options are: [AC97] or [HD Audio]. Maybe it is just me, but every other MB I have ever has was very simple to turn off the onboard sound. This one seems to be a pain. Maybe it is just me =(

Hm. Let me take a quick look in the BIOS, maybe there is actually no option for this. And that'd be bad :C
(Bah. I hate reboots.)

My tip would be to set the HD Audio to Disabled. I haven't found any other sound related options.

Hi,

I'm currently planning to upgrade my CPU from a AMD CPU AM2 Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ AM2 to a AMD CPU AM2 Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ AM2. It has been brought to my attention that I need to flash my BIOS currently at 0103 to 0602 or above. Having never done this before and reading threads of problems on various forums I would appreciate any help on how I should go about this. What BIOS version is recommended as being stable above 0602? What tool is recommended to flash the BIOS?

Thanks

Hello,

I'm currently using the latest ( 1102, maybe it's in the beta section?) BIOS from ASUS. I've done the flashing with the ASUS Update utility. WinFlash doesn't work for me any longer :/

But it's a piece of cake nowadays.. so grab the latest BIOS from ASUS' site and the fancy Updater, and in the Updater select the "Update BIOS from file". Click the button that says something affirmative, and wait ~30 seconds.

Reboot and enter the BIOS menu to set your settings because the flashing defaulted all of them.

Good luck

Thanks for the advice PAStheLoD, flashed the BIOS to 1102 a few minutes ago with no problems and system still seems stable.

Is anyone else having problems getting lower multipliers to hold? I have a 6400+ and the latest beta bios, but the multiplier setting won't go below default 16, even when it says so in the bios... All other settings are default.

Is it just with the voltage setting issues for the memory where all the problems are with this board??

Hello guys...
First of all... DAMN! I wish i had the chance to read this board before buying my M2N-E.

I have this mobo with an XFX 8800 GTS Fatal1ty, my only problems are with games, some run fine, while others just freezes my role system, and i can't even reboot it by pressing reset, i need to turn it off and on.
After reading an awful load of pages in this topic i noticed that you guys complain most of the low power that this board provide, so my question is, do you think that my problem is related to the mobo or something else?

I'm not an expert in OC or tweaking the mobo to get the most of it, but i wish that at least i was able to play the games.

Hi kylleron,

What other devices do you have plugged into your board? What kind of PSU do you have? What is your OS? And what games are your having some difficulties? And what kind of cooling do you have?

How come not even the reset button working? My knowledge is that the reset button almost phisically interrupts the power for a very short time, although it's still wired onto the mobo, so maybe the ultimately freezing of the board is possible, but I'm more than interested in this "not even the reset works" phenomenon.

Finally, do you set anything in the BIOS that can cause your system to be overclocked? (AI NOS?)
