If you are not using the manual settings under the advanced tab then you also can't set the vagp to 1.7v and that was necessary for my 9700 Pro. Can't help you with the raid as I have never ran it on this board.

Good morning....

A memory question... I have 2 sticks of OCZ 400 256 R2 256MB DDR400 PC3200 Rev 2 Memory w/Aluminum Heat Spreader, when i boot the system up the memory reads a "333 Mhz, Dual Channel, Linear Mode" can someone explain why it reads 333? This is 400 Mhz memory.

One more question...when coming out standby mode after a couple of hours of inactivity, my internet connection does not work(cable), I have to reboot in order to get my connection back.

I am on bios 1006

Thanks

I am assuming that the 2.4 is a 800Mhz fsb since you are using the P4C800.
In the bios under the advanced tab you will see 'standard'
Change this to 'manual'
You will get many options that you can adjust the settings
If you are just running at default speed set this to 400, which
will give you a 1:1 ratio for your cpu/mem timing.

It is my understanding that 875 and 865 motherboards will not support DDR400 RAM unless you are using a processor with FSB800. There is really no point in getting an 875/865 motherboard unless you plan on getting one of the new P4's. If it's the DualDDR memory interface that is attracting you, then the 7205 chipset will do fine.

Since you already have the motherboard, you might consider getting a P4 2.4C. They should be quite inexpensive soon. You will get the added performance benefit of a 50% increase in FSB even though the core speed is the same.

Hi,

I just finished installing my P4C800 Deluxe, P4 3.0C and waterblock, but when I power up, I get 5 beeps, and no boot. The manual says that 5 beeps means a cpu problem. What kind of problem might it be?

I was very careful about static,
Both ATX power connecters are plugged in,
I tried removing and reseating the processor,

Is the CPU DOA, or is it likely the motherboard?

Thanks,

Rob Yale

Which one is the correct one to download? B16 or B25? I'm assuming 25, but I don't want to fudge anything up. Oh, and if you have installed this, could you "feel" the speed increase? I just built this machine with SATA RAID 0 config and was a bit dissapointed in the performance, but wasn't sure if this was a bug/problem or I just couldn't tell because I upgraded from a 700 MHz machine and expected too much

I am having some problems with my Corsair TWINX1024-3200LLPT 1GB DDR400 XMS3200 Dual-Channel Memory memory that I picked up for this board.

In the BIOS I had it set for Auto on the memory settings and I kept dropping to black background on install of XP or any other software. So I set it to the manual settings by disabling auto in the BIOS and was having better luck.

Well last night I was loading some stuff and I got the BSOD saying that I had a Physical Memory dump.

So now I am wondering if I should set the memory timings to the one shown in Anand's writeup on the board and see if that helps.

Anyone else using this memory with success or could tell me which way I should be heading with getting this system stable. It seems off an on. I have only had this board and memory for a week so I am still experimenting.

Also did you notice the board beeps on startup for each external USB device you have attached. Itwas driving me nuts why I was getting those beeps until I disconnecting the devices.

Thanks

I have tried to install 2 Kingston Hyper-X KHX3200/512 modules on my Asus P4C800 Deluxe motherboard. Initially, I couldn't get the system to boot into Win XP Pro. With the latest bios from Asus, version 1007 beta 006, I was able to finally boot into Win XP Pro. However, I get small crashes and system instability. I allow the motherboard to set all the system bus and memory speeds automatically. I need to know if there is anything I can do to get the KHX3200/512 (PC3200/DDR400) to work with the P4C800 motherboard. It is definitely the memory because to troubleshoot, I bought a KVR333X64C25/265 (DDR333/PC2700) module and the system runs flawlessly. Another issue I may have: do I have enough power to run 1GB of KHX3200 memory? I have a 330W power supply.

Here are my current system specs:
Win XP Pro
Pentium 4 3.0Ghz/800 MHz FSB
256MB PC2700 Memory
Yamaha CRW2200E
Creative DVD2240E
Creative SoundBlaster Live!
80 GB Western Digital 7200RPM Drive
45 GB Western Digital 7200RPM Drive
Creative Annihilator 2 Ultra (NVidia Geforce 2 Ultra)
Enermax 330 Watt power supply
2 80mm Case fans

Will a higher wattage power supply result in the 1GB of KHX3200 being more stable?

A new finding related to my above post. Just for the heck of it, I placed one KHX3200/512 module in my motherboard. It has been about 2 hours now, and the system seems to be running without any problems. Again, do I not have enough power to run 1GB of DDR400 in dual-channel mode? It's been smooth sailing with 512MB of DDR400 running in single-channel mode. Also, I plan to upgrade to a Radeon 9800 pro in the upcoming months. I know ATI suggests a minimum 300W power supply, but do I have enough with all my other components?

Can someone please clear-up my confusion about using the ATA133 'edge'-connector on this board?

I simply want to connect an ATA133 Maxtor to that channel as a NON-RAID (standard) drive - is that doable?

jdmesty:

I have 2 Gigs of the same memory. At the SPD settings, I was experiencing various stability problems, but I've got a fix that allows the memory to run at the SPD settings. Here's what to do.

Flash the BIOS with the new 1007 beta. Then raise the DRAM voltage, incrementally from default (I think it's at 2.6), until you find stability. I had to raise it to 2.75v before it worked but I've been running it for 5 days now at the full SPD latency settings and not the first problem.

Good luck. That's some FAST memory bro.

[edited to correct vdimm voltage]

I have an ASUS P4C800 Deluxe. When I boot up, the bios beep twice, two short quiets beeps. The beeps just don't sound like error warnings, they are too quiet. The systems runs great so far, only had it for a few days. I am running the Kingston Memory, 1 gig (2x512) at 2.5. Does anyone else have these beeps, is this a parity error or is the bios suppose to beep twice?

I read on the forum that the bios will beep for each USB device I have installed, I do have a USB Keyboard and mouse.

These beeps are driving me crazy. Are they normal, anyone else get them?

P4C800 Deluxe
P4 3GHz-800MHz
1 gig kingston 2.5 (2x512)
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128
2X36 Gig WD Raptor 10,000 RPM - RAID 0
WD 120 gig ata 100
Plextor Premium 52x36x52
LiteOn 52x
Floppy
Antec TruePower 550
Antex tower
USB Keyboard and Mouse
....

Thanks,

remaklus,

Beeps are perfectly normal, yes, it's one for each detected USB device. No way to get rid of them AFAIK (short of using a PS/2 mouse and keyboard. )

Thanks again.
Sheezzze - Let it beep it's brains out.
Mine will do a beep
then double beep and then
another beep.

Don't care and doesn't bother me at all as long as she keeps
running 3.5Ghz like she has since May 9th and using the Kingston
HyperX3500 (2X512Mb) @ 2-2-2-5-4-Auto-Infinite-64u/sec

Just don't worry about the beeps - they are normal.

edit: spell check

Anyone got an idea how to assign an IRQ to an AGP Video Card on this board? No one replied to my previous request for assistance and since that time I did a little more digging. The manufacturer of the card (VisionTek Ti4600) states that the card cannot share an IRQ with any other devices. When I lookin in the XP "System Information" utility, I find the card is sharing two IRQ channels with other devices.

I see no control in the BIOS to allow me to assign an IRQ to an AGP device. Under advanced/PnP-PCI you are allowed to reserve IRQ channels for Legacy devices or make them available for PCI devices, but I see nothing else in the BIOS that allows me to assign / dedicate a channel to an AGP video card.
