Thanks for the tip chefjoe! Googlegear has the hyperx stuff at about 15$ less per stick than the corsair xms3500. Can anyone verify that this is a safe bet with 2x512 at spd settings?

Help. Can't overclock my P4P800 non deluxe!
I've got a P4 2.4C / P4P800 non deluxe / 2 x Corsair XMS-3500. I can overclock fine till around 215Mhz with CPU External Frequency 215Mhz, but anything above that my system won't boot, and I get the message "Overclocking Failed" in the POST screen. I've tried using DRAM Frequency 400/320/266Mhz and none of them post. I've set Performance Mode to Standard and Turbo, I've upped my CPU vcore to 1.675 and DDR Voltage to 2.75 but still no post!
What could be the problem? I'm afraid to push the voltages higher in fear that it'll fry. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?? I've bought all the recommended components and it's not working! Could it be my HSF? I'm using the standard intel HSF.
I've also tried various DRAM timings and also tried it on by speed. Please help!

So this mobo isnt good for OC?? right?
Could anyone tell me if the board supports vcore UNDERvolting please? How much?
Thx
Bump. I've seen some reviews and few testimonials as to it being a good overclocker, but I'd like to see more before I come to a conclusion...

Now the problem:
I cannot get this setup to work stably with Hyperthreading, Turbo, and Memory Enhancement all on, no matter what the timing. Do people with a similar setup have the same problem? Here's how I test: I run two instances of Prime95 (run one as "prime95.exe" and a second as "prime95.exe -A1"). Set one process to run on CPU0 (through the Advanced -> Affinity menu item) and the second to run on CPU1. Even on RAM timings set to 3.0-3-3-7-8 and 2.75V to the DDR, I get a failure in one instance within 5-10 minutes, while the other will keep on going. If I turn off Turbo mode, I can run the RAM on default voltage, 2.0-3-3-6-8 and run both instances of Prime95 for hours on end with no problem. Have those of you who tried intensive dual-CPU tasks run into the same issues with Turbo mode?

I recently bought this board and for the most part it rocks! There is an issue though that I can't figure out. Ok I have my 2 200 GB HDs setup in raid 0 array and I am having the weirdest problem. If I am listening to MP3a or any sound for that matter and transfering files onto the array, my sound begins to crack and pop for the duration of the transfer. When I tell you I have tried everything, I have tried EVERYTHING! I upgraded the bios to(beta 1007.10), upgraded the Promise fastrak raid drivers(1.0.0.25), bought a new sound card(from a Creative live to an Audigy2), disabled the onboard lan and installed a PCI nic, changed power supply to a Antec True Power 550, cried and prayed to every god in the book I dont want to send this board back but if I do im getting the Abit IC7-G. I worked in I.T. for the last 5 yrs and have built numerous systems and this prob got me bad. If I transfer to a drive that is not in raid it works fine and if I transfer between drives locally it works fine. I transfer files over my network while listening to mp3s or watching divx movies often. If anyone has this board with there drives in a Raid 0 config I would be extremely grateful if you can try this on yours. I want to rule out that it is the boards issue with onboard raid that I have been reading about or maybe its just a bad apple in the bunch. Thanks for any help or suggestions

If you do, then you will get instability like your Prime95 erroring out. You won't get any performance boost using Turbo if you are using 266/320 memory settings/ratios, only at 400. If not, even with Turbo mode, you should try and relax your memory timings to at least 2.5-3-3-7-8 (Auto)(Auto).

I'm just curious if people who use turbo mode and run dual-processing intensive tasks have the same prime95 errors I do. As I stated earlier, with turbo mode on, and timings set to 3.0-3-3-7-8, I still conk out on prime95, and the system exhibits signs of instability. I'm fine running in standard mode, but I just want to make sure I'm not getting short-changed.

Can you download cpuz and see what your ram timings are when using turbo mode? Then compare these timing numbers with what is spd for your ram. Here is what I think is happening, because this happened to me with Performance Mode set to Turbo at 1:1 (400mhz) memory ratio. It basically uses SPD settings of your ram, which in turn may cause instability. My Corsair ram uses 2-2-2-5 timings when using SPD settings. Even though I Manual settings and change them to 2.5-3-3-6, when using Performance Mode set to Turbo, cpuz says they are running at 2-2-2-5.

Hey,
Well i got my board. I'm not ready to palce my review of it yet though.
I do have a question. keep in mind everything is running fine so far.
When i reboot my computer i get a beep, and then i get another beep and then 3 beeps in a row. i looked it up and i'm thinking it might be the long beep and then 3 short beeps. it says here "either no video card is connected or video card video memory bad". but it seems fine - i don't have any problems so far.
anyone have a clue? if my video card is bad how do i RMA a ATI video card and prove that my video card is bad??
thanks!
