Yeah, I ended up disabling my onboard drivers (there was also a boot conflict that would halt my bootup on occasion). I'm getting a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music soundcard on monday, so I won't be without sound for too long. My boot time also skyrocketed to 28 seconds from a cold boot to a fully functional desktop.
P5B, I hadn't run ORTHOS under those memory settings (or any stress testers for that matter) until just today after seeing your post. It didn't go very well. After about 2 minutes, I got an error. So, I set myself the task of trying out different fsb speeds and RAM speeds/latencies to see what worked best. What I came up with (that has been running stable) is the following BIOS settings:
Advanced
JumperFree Configuration
- AI Tuning [manual]
- CPU Frequency [340]
- DRAM Frequency [DDR2-680MHz]
- PCI Express Frequency [100]
- Spread Spectrum [Disabled]
- Memory Voltage [2.00V]
- CPU VCore Voltage [1.3375V]
- FSB Termination Voltage [1.200V]
- NB VCore [Auto]
- SB Vcore (SATA, PCIE) [Auto]
- ICH Chipset Voltage [1.057V]
Chipset
--
North Bridge Configuration
- Memory Remap Feature [Disabled]
- Configure DRAM Timings by SPD [Disabled]
-- DRAM CAS# Latency [4]
-- DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay [4 DRAM Clocks]
-- DRAM RAS# Precharge [4 DRAM Clocks]
-- DRAM RAS# Activate to Precha [12 DRAM Clocks]
-- DRAM Write Recovery Time [5 DRAM Clocks]
-- DRAM TRFC [42 DRAM Clocks]
-- DRAM TRRD [ 10]
-- Rank Write to Read Delay [ 10]
-- Read to Precharge Delay [ 10]
-- Write to Precharge Delay [ 10]
- Statuc Read Control [Auto]
- Initiate Graphics Adapter [PCI/PEG]
Using the above settings on my P5B Deluxe motherboard, with my current memory and CPU, I've been ORTHOS stable for almost 9 hours now and counting. And my temps currently are:
CPU: Idle - 32 Celsius
CPU: Load - 45 Celsius
Motherboard (
continuous)
: 35-38 Celsius
Hope that helps.
Oh, also... Though I know it is for a different board (the P5W) there are many BIOS settings that correspond to the P5B Deluxe that I found very handy
here. It gives more detailed descriptions of the various BIOS settings and helps to optimize it better.
