Hello all. I think I have finally managed to read through this entire thread - lots of good info in here.
Anyway, I just switched from a Asrock 775 Dual-VSTA motherboard to the P5B Deluxe/WiFi for use with my e6600 and 2x1 GB Patriot DDR2 667 memory. Things are very stable. I am currently running at 9x333 = 3 Ghz. However, I have to run 1.32 volts for this. I have been able to run at 9x366 and 9x400 as well, but the voltage requirements seem excessive for me. I can't get the board to post at 366 unless I am pushing over 1.4 volts and the only way I can post at 400 is in auto, which overvolts to 1.55 volts. Am I missing something?
I have tried to mimick other user's settings, upping the NB, SB, termination voltage as well. It just seems odd that some users can get to 400 mhz at 1.3 volts, while I need 1.55. I have a Zalman 9500 cooler, but at 1.5 volts, my temps are at about 50 idle.
9x333@1.32 volts = 36 idle, 45 TAT load
9x366@1.4 volts = 43 idle, 55 TAT load
9x400@1.55 volts = 51 idle, 62 TAT load
These are bios settings, not speedfan readings (i know about Vdroop).
This is with new AS5 applied.
the latest bios (1007 or whatever). Does anyone have any advise on how to get it to post or be stable in windows at higher FSB, without needing to up the voltage so much? I read posts about people hitting 400 mhz with 1.36 volts. I can't get anywhere near that, unless I am missing some magical settings.
Thanks
