Thanks for the welcome
Yep, latest 1101 bios. Just wondering who's giving permission for the clock to go up and down.

I'm trying to search, but I must be doing something wrong and it doesn't seem to be working so if my question was already answered, I apologize.
I have the P5B-e normal board and everything seems to be working except for the ethernet port. Right now windows is telling me that my network cable is unplugged (which it isn't) and I'm not really sure what is going on. I have the ethernet drivers installed and some network bridge works, but the actual ethernet isn't. The only odd thing I have in my computer right now is I have an IDE controller card installed so I can hook up my disc drives as I have IDE hard drives and am using the one IDE port. Could that be the problem? Any suggestions?
Well, I downloaded all of the windows updates with this cord, but I just switched it and still get the same behavior.Originally posted by: chuckbam12

Have you tried a different network cable?
Last night I disabled the bridge and took the other two pieces off it. That allowed me to get some access, but only because it would swap between connected and disconnected. Do I have to do more to get rid of the Network Bridge?Originally posted by: Rafael
shadowane,
Try to remove the Bridge connection you have on your LAN.
You should not have a bridge connection, unless you set it to, or your ISP requires that.

Crimson, I've had that same problem before and it turned out to be a bad stick of RAM. I'd just randomly get copy errors when trying to install things. So I'd suggest trying it with one stick of ram at a time and see if you have the same issues.

I'm running WXP Pro XP1. My CPU core speed will drop to 6x when idling, but Vcore is still stuck around 1.45 (both at 9x and 6x). I use CPUz and Speedfan to check for the CPU voltage.
Which software are you using to check Vcore? Also which BIOS are you using?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought SpeedStep was something to disable if you are overclocking? There are no problems running it at the same time as an overclock?? I'd love to be able to bring my temps/voltages down when I am not gaming!!!

I prefer SP1. This is a clean install of windows. Are you using AUTO or manual when setting Vcore? I see that the AUTO setting will ramp up/down Vcore up to a point, then the value is locked-in above a certain threshold.
