Official AT 2012 NFL preseason smack talk thread

I think I did this last year as well, so I want to make it a tradition. Post your NFL smack talk here ahead of the season. I'll start:

1. Tom Brady sucks and is Eli Manning's bitch.
2. I am still pissed at Jim Irsay and hope that when the Colts and Broncos meet, Peyton kicks his ass.
3. I wonder if Rex Ryan wants to watch Sanchez get Tebowed.

I'm sure I'll think of more later.

As a Colts fan, I realize that no matter what decision he made, he was going to piss someone off. And I have little doubt that when the Broncos play the Colts, Manning will come out on top.

Honestly, I was hopeful that they'd trade the top pick away and bring in the King's ransom they could have to retool the defense under Pagano's scheme. But as it is, Manning would've made far too much money and taken up too much cap space to allow the Colts to re-sign much of anyone, or bring in any help. By releasing him and several others, they were afforded the ability to bring in some guys that can contribute at a level higher than a lot of the players the Colts have.

In any case, while I am not happy with what happened, I just figure it was a smart decision to gamble on the next best thing in the draft since Manning. Hopefully he lives up to his billing, but if not, I dunno how well we could've done under Manning's current contract. Polian certainly made things difficult on the current GM, but it seems he is making some moves that should slowly begin to improve and stabilize this team from more than just the QB spot.

2. Don't you mean if? They aren't scheduled to play this year, and they certainly won't see the Colts in the playoffs so ... I here's hoping they meet in one of the 1, possibly 2 years after this one that Peyton has left.

I know this is the exact opposite of smack talk but I don't expect anything great from the Ravens this year. Terrel Suggs is injured, Joe Flacco appears to have plateaued, Ed Reed is a whining, aging prima donna. I sense a year or two of "rebuilding" coming up.
