People with 5850's are running it fine too, but Ive also heard the settings are locked and that there isn't 'true' ultra yet.

Installed it and played a few rounds (15minutes late to work)... I didn't get to adjust the settings or anything (don't know how couldn't find the option to)... I also couldn't change persona and it uses my EA/Origin username instead D:

Anyhow first impressions:

It ran silky smooth on my rig... no lag or studders... in my honest opinion the movement and shooting felt more like Medal of Honor than BFBC2 - which I liked because I felt the shooting and movement was a lot better on MoH than BFBC2... Graphics were awesome! I haven't played a FPS with proning in the game for awhile - I would shoot at dead bodies I see on the floor as I run by just in case (you can't tell if their dead unless someone spots them so they have the orange triangle)...

Will fiddle with the settings after I get home from work and gym...

the game physics are just awesome, the combat just feels so right and merely moving around is a joy

and I'm a huge BC2 fan, was afraid I was going to hate this if only because I wouldn't like change

letting people spawn on any squadmate is the biggest and worst change i noticed already

it has brought back that same stupid play from bc2 where you kill 2 dudes and 1 guy manages to live then all of a sudden there is 3 guys on the mcom instantly again

also sniper rifles seem like they got buffed way too much, almost every shot is 1 shot kill from them

This, plus on Conquest there's always one guy who goes somewhere else besides where the leader is going and when people die they will respawn on him, resulting in a fractured, incohesive squad.

Posted a thread in the video card forums for those using a 9800gt/9800gtx and what they could possibly expect .

Now, that's a problem, if DICE isn't going to make it so that there are extra squad slots so that you can leave snipers alone in their one man squads. Bf2 had what, at least 12 squads you could form? BF3 needs at least 16 squad slots since each squad can only hold 4.

Also, rumor has it that you can only issue orders to flags/MCOMS, just like BC2. If it's supposed to be different in full release, DICE isn't talking.

Yeah, I actually forgot people did that in Battlefield. In the first part of the level where you have that circular stone mid wall thing...40% of my deaths my first game came from people going prone beneath the little wall, another 40% bushes. The rest straight up deaths, but I didnt go prone once...dont even know the key since I dont seem to have config options.

Yup the same with me now the subways down below are more fun and predictable been finding guys camping around corners thru doorways so when you walk into a room the guy is right there in the corner...

I couldn't figure out why for the life of me when I would move the mouse crap was getting all jerky, I dropped the settings down to low and still had it. Then figured I saw and changed the refresh rate on the overall resolution. It was set at my monitors default 120hz, once I dropped it down to 60 the game was smooth and I put all the settings back to ultra and it was running perfectly fine. Never had this issue in any other game and it was damn frustrating for a bit.

Overall, the game is pretty cool, though I was never a big rush fan, always been a conquest person personally. I wasn't blown away though like I was hoping, hopefully putting in a little more time will change that.

I always preferred Conquest as well. From what everyone is saying here, my rig should have no problem maxing it out save for high AA.

Just to let everyone know... I saw someone using a sniper scope and the scope reflection was bright as hell! It's literally screaming for you to shoot at him...LOL

How do you get to the options menu? I dont see anything, just a game specific menu.

Deploy (either to a squad member or to a default location) then hit ESC. There the options menu comes up. You can't pull it up anywhere else, or so I haven't been able too. Really freaking stupid not even being able to pull it up anytime.
