Need some help here. The way things are set up now when I zoom the map in and out I see three levels...close, mid and far. The close and mid levels have forward up while the far level is north up. I really hate that it switches between the two. It should be either north up...all the time, or forward up...all the time. Is there a setting I'm missing like there was in BF2? I looked and couldn't find it.

For those that want to read on...I'm so damn lost in these maps. You can't move in empty servers and you can't start your own to learn your way around. So I'm the idiot laying in the bushes while I study the map. Then as I'm driving around and I adjust the map zoom I know where I am at the close and mid level zoom...but then when it goes to the far zoom I instantly lose where I am since the while thing spins around. And to think I use to be good at 1942 and BF2. Now I'm all thumbs.

Right now you click one button to cycle through the options: single, burst, full-auto.

I want to be able to find a specific button to each fire mode. I really only use auto and single shot, but even if they let me skip having to cycle through burst that would be appreciated.

P.S. If you aren't using the silencer, you should be.

There needs to be diff sens options for on foot/chopper/plane/auto.
Zoom sens option too.

for me, i wasnt getting invites (pop-ups) for party joins and the join server buttons didnt have the dropdown for party or alone join. avast! webshield is the problem. i turned the webshield off and everything works great now. i put a url exception in avast but ive not tested it.

Bingo! I am using Avast! as well. If you manage the URL exception to work, let me know.

People keep saying they will be out about a month after release, but no date has been given by DICE ever since they said it wouldn't be a simultaneous release with BF3.

The Back to Karkand maps probably won't be available until at least December.

recently switched to a deathadder 3500 here a month ago. unlike the beta, the game does recognize the additional mouse buttons. im just having trouble with the gadget1 binding. i havent tried to use the razer software to manually map the mouse button to a keyboard key.

Thanks, gents. I feel a bit silly spending more on a mouse to play BF3 than I did on BF3 itself, but it's probably a good investment.

For anyone with slight stuttering issues, try disabling Hyperthreading. Seems odd, but worked well for me.

The 1911 showed up in my loadout yesterday (wasn't there the day before). I think it's a veteran perk - at least it was in BC2. So you have to find a way to register your older games with EA (or something to that effect).

I saw that too - interesting issue. I've noticed that my GPU is not locked at 99% as it was in BC2, despite the heavier graphics load, which tells me the CPU is not feeding it perfectly. I don't think it's the clock speed that's holding me back (although it could be)...I might try disabling HT as well to see if that evens things out.

I'm almost positive I had an extra pistol in my kit when I played the first night.

This is what it says on the rewards page of the gun club:
Battlefield 3 M1911 Pistol

The M1911 is your go to secondary weapon to take out anyone that gets in your way. Access to the M1911 will be awarded automatically when you play Battlefield 3 multiplayer with your EA Account.

Well, it would seem then that this game is properly multi-threaded. I'll monitor my cores next time I'm in.

I was on TS with some guys, and I remember telling them "I must really suck at this game" when that happened!

I have only played Engineer so far, trying to earn the better weapons, but I haven't even gone in to the Customize Weapon screen yet to see if I earned any upgrades for that default gun.

hahaha yeah, the default kit was holding you back. Later in the game we got into it again and you tried to poke your head out of cover from like 75m away. I had a IR scope and it was no contest. But you warmed up later in the game or the next one, and it seemed like everytime I ran into you were just a shot or two better.

I was wondering who the Waco... guy was, you were doing good last night :thumbsup:

lol I joined the party chat, and someone is like "Waco...who is this guy??" It was a lot of fun playing with you guys. Its nice to be on a server were people move around and dont just sit in a bush.

Had a great time on TB last night. I saw the video linked and thought for sure I would be on the receiving end of that kill shot. WacoJonnieDean took me out quite a few times

Well, I'm still looking through a days worth of footage, so there is still hope! Jschmuck had my number last night as well. And there was this guy dnguyen83 who I thought was all-world, because he got me like 6 times in a round. Dude only had 10 kills, and 13 deaths! LOL And I was doing it as well to some people. Strange how some people just always run into each other.

Even playing in Tugboat, I still didn't see much squad play. SLs need to mark objectives, for the extra points. I also don't like how you can't start a squad.

I guess I'll find out tonight. On the 360 beta I remember I had to earn the 1911 after a few levels. I know I didn't have the 1911 as of last night and when I went to register for Gun Club it said I already had an account. I used my Origin/EA login and that worked. I am not sure if that really does mean I have an account or if I have to take an extra step to sign up for Gun Club.

Anyway, I hope it shows up miraculously tonight.

I logged in with my EA account but it doesn't find a "persona." And doesn't show any linked games. Hmm...

I played a lot (terrible k/d, decent points), but couldn't figure out how to enable chat.

The problem with squads is infantry/vehicle coordination, or lack thereof. Actually I'm not even sure this is possible with a jet...
