Probably my best game so far, got awarded the best Recon! A sweet head shot on someone who just started sprinting for the game winner, bolt action for lyfe. Not the best KD-wise but definitely my favoite match.

That was a good run. If it wasnt for that guy in that jet we would have went 1,2,3. And if Destiny joined our squad earlier it would have went 1,2,3,4! What a bloodbath on hilltop. MF'ers wouldnt let it go.

my friend chris who hasnt had a gaming pc in YEARS and mostly plays COD on PS3/360, was giving pc gaming another shot.

Anyone else run into problems on some 64 player maps? Oman is unplayable for me with 64 players but Sharqi and Metro are fine. I tried lowering my graphics settings but that barely made any difference

And Termie - I swear that I am never that good with a sniper rifle but for some reason out of the 3-4 people standing by you my bullet always seemed to find your head

I think he was 52-1 when I jumped on the server and spawned into a jet... took off and saw him shoot down my teamate in front of me and I chased after him and shot him down...:whiste:

The next map Caspian Border had the #3 jet pilot in the world = Fox7-Tyrant...

he had the craziest air manuevers and shook me off his six everytime I shot at him a few times. I dunno how he did it but he would throttled down faster than I can - then with a few moves he woould get on my six and shoot me down with super accurate aiming...

I killed him once with my ground to air stinger and that was it... really wanted to see panda and Fox7 go at it to learn some new flying moves.:awe:

There is no way you can do that without cheating. I've put in lots of time in jets and I never see enough 3d spots on the ground to go like 73-3 like he did. It just doesn't happen.

I put in alot of time in jets too and I never saw anything like it - even better jet fighters I went up against i never see them shoot or fly like that... then again I never saw anyone pull off flying manuvers like like him either... I'm still wondering if he was using keyboard or flight stick, his down throttle was sick... I do know flight stick shooting is not that accurate either because I had one and stopped using it...

Half of my deaths on that map was due to that guy... he would kill me with the exact number of jet cannon bullets. Like I didn't see any jet bullets fly pass me... normally a few would miss and you see the tracers or see sporadic hit indicators and you can perform evasive manuavers... but nope... once I got hit by him I was gone... I also notice that if he sees you fly up in a jet he would ignore everyone else and come after the better jet pilot...

Plus his ground aiming was super accurate... I saw him mowing down you and everyone else trying to defend hill top...

I've been wondering about the wandering framerate too.
I can usually keep framerate pegged at my render limit of 59fps, but sometimes (as compared to the same map at another time) I would lose nearly half of those frames.

I haven't paid attention to see if one fix I tried has done anything or if those fps drop moments are just due to the nature of Battlefield, i.e. since any one match can proceed in so many different ways, some buildings falling others not.
Something I recently thought about, since it almost seemed like simply toggling a selection fixed it, is if this is a power-level issue. The GPUs are being driven based on a set power level, a set voltage and clock speeds that should match what is being used. I am guessing that perhaps some program combinations and the right hardware could cause issues through bugs.

One time it happened, I minimized the game, opened the window for MSI Afterburner, and toggled a setting somewhere (perhaps voltage or fan speed, I was banking on it not mattering). Either way, I can't guarantee it was an actual fix versus good luck on timing.

In the nvidia driver panel, I decided to change the Power settings for the BF3 profile. I set that to Performance (vs Adaptive). Figured there was a low moment in the game (end of level?), but afterward it got stuck in the lower power state.
What led me to that conclusion was what appeared to be a lower percentage of GPU utilization (Afterburner's OSD) when the visuals are actually demanding more than I've got anyway.

It could be something else too, and the low utilization was a symptom and not the cause.

I checked out this guy's profile, 9818 kills in 4975 minutes (89hours) with the Frogfoot. That's a 2 kills/min average. Completely agree with you, 3D spotting is not prevalent enough to maintain this epic rate over such a long haul. Not even close.

Funny, that was the first time I remember really trying to go battlebus-style in that thing. I take it you didn't like how it handled...we had a few wipeouts there...and it's tricky to get the repair tool just right too due to the shape of the fuselage...

It turns as slow as the Havoc, doesn't right itself back up if it topples on its side, and loses its ENTIRE tail if health reaches critical. None of these things happen with the Venom.

It's pretty useful for rocket strafing runs and interceptions. It should really come in handy for the F-35 though because of the faster hover mode transition.

expandas and I had the wingman thing going tonight. We kept teaming up on the AA vehicles and any time either one of us had a jet on our tale the other person took care of them. Much more enjoyable flying that way.

i also spent some time with a hacker(some wallhack/aimbot) on my squad. his SPM is pretty crazy, but I still beat him two of teh 3 rounds we played together.

guess hacking doesnt make you awesome, does explain why he was the best chopper gunner I ever had though....

I found out cuz I got accussed of wallhacking on metro conquest. was running USAS as recon with TUGS on a low pop server.

The ground support planes only appear in rush so it's probably easy to get targets since people are more clumped. On Krag Island, you get an AMMTRAC in the water and you get get up to 6 kills in a few seconds.

Interesting. I have an ATI card so I dont know if I have a similar option but I will give it a look. There is only on constant that I can think of that I have noticed. The more destroyed the map the worse it gets for me. But even then certain maps are worse than others. Sometimes my gun will disappear. Sometimes the enemy wont show up and I just see the muzzle fire from an empty spot...
