So much of the air battle is dependent on your ground team. If your ground team is rolling the opposition they don't have time to sit there and paint your with stingers all day, and your team is most likely annoying the other teams jet.

I'm a semi decent jet pilot and I get pissed when people brag about shooting me down when their team is up by 300 tickets, and I've got a constant missile tone while they hunt me down.

That's not to say there aren't situations where I come across pilots that can totally spank me, but those are pretty rare, far more common for it to be situational spankage.

Man i been on a knifing frenzy lately. I took out a squad with a knife other night. lol

Sometimes its just easier to knife someone that reload main weapon or switch to pistol.

M39 EMR is going to be painful to unlock. It's so inaccurate in iron sights it's laughable. 3 feet away with iron sights right on someone and you miss. It's hilarious.

I loved the EMR for battle recon. I put the ACOG on it and was just sticking close to my squad. Anything out to 100m was easy and moving targets was doable.

Anyone have any tips for taking out helicopters with jets? I can never take them out in one pass with the machine gun, and by the time I come back they are fully repaired. I'd rather not use heat seekers since then I don't have an air to ground weapon.

Get your hands on an AA vehicle. You can dominate with it, especially if you are an engineer and you can hop out and repiar yourself.

Planet yourself behind some obsticles so you are hard to spot by ground troups.

Practice rocket strafing the bus while approaching at low speed. The splash from the rockets also has the side benefit of being able to dislodge some of the engineers.

It also may not be possible to take out a fully equipped battlebus in one pass...you'll need help.

I find that engaging the bus from the front or behind works well because you avoid the door gunners and take advantage of its sluggish maneuverability. Assuming you slow down and lead your shot, you should be able to kill it in one pass. Try to land at least 80% of your shells on target. Don't bother firing rockets at short/medium range.

I normally crash into them if my jet's gun doesn't take it out... I'd trade one for five anyday...

Anyone else here like BF3's TDM? I love it, except for the ridiculous spawns it often gives you. Ive been playing it a lot lately to quickly rack up the 500 kills it takes to unlock the Mastery Dogtags for weapons.

Never played tdm. Normally, not a fan of infantry only maps. But I've been playing a lot of meatgrinder Metro servers lately and have been enjoying it.
I think it is because people play as a team supporting each other on this map more than any other. Whereas on other maps you can be stuck on a team or squad where you are pretty much left on your own, on the meatgrinder maps that isn't the case. You have support refilling ammo, assault throwing health packs and reviving, it's a lot of fun.

Anyone else noticing one team stacked server after another on conquest lately? I joined 4 servers in a row that were ridiculously unbalanced tonight and it took about 6 tries to find a relatively balanced server last night. It might be time for me to switch to another game mode I guess.

Depends on time/server as well as # tickets. High ticket servers tend to see lots of stacking onto the winning side.

Also TDMs only have the random spawns, at least as far as I can tell.

Some servers don't allow you to spawn on squadmates in SQDM. I assume they feel like it balances the game in a different way if you spawn elsewhere and have to work to regroup with them.

BF3 is all about conquest,BF2 was the same as well.

People ask me if when i play BF3,do i play tdm or rush and i say rush is a BC2 ported type of gameplay i never cared for,and if i wanna play tdm,i would be playing COD for that,as i always felt BF2 and now BF3 just in general is a better experience conquest style and now since we got rush and tdm,people often refer to BF3 as BC3.

Rush on the beta for Operation Metro pissed me off cause it only wanted to attract all the console kiddies who prob played BC2 on their consoles,beta for pc from the start should have had conquest mode and when you land on a sucky team,it sucks hard cause half the time the guys wanna play lonewolf with no teamwork like its a freaking tdm round.

Yep, I prefer playing TDM Hardcore too and there are definitely not enough HC servers out there.

Ive always loved TDM since being addicted Quake 3 Arena. I enjoyed CoD4 and Black Ops for that same type of feel, thankfully now I can get that kind of action in BF3. I like Conquest and Rush but for a quick fix of running and gunning nothing beats TDM for me.

I just get totally annoyed when playing Squad DM, nothing is worse than carrying your squad with a high KDR and still losing by just a few kills because you got stuck with a bunch of noobs.
