NO they dont its like he said, people just run in a circle around the map capping one undefended flag after another. Its like playing whack a mole, it sucks.
To an extent, that's OK, you just don't want it to become the whole game. One way to temper it is by having the main base be an airfield, and then another base have the tanks, and other the helicopter. Dalian Plant is almost perfect in this regard. The airfield, heli and tank bases will be heavily defended, and if there is any whack a mole, it's going to be at the less important flags. But the teams therefore have a choice - focus on capping the less important flags to play the ticket bleed game, or focus on capping the vehicle spawning flags to deny the enemy their vehicles.
If you don't want to play whack-a-mole with everyone else, you and your squad should just focus on the jet and heli flags, or secondarily, the tank spawning flag, by doing so you won't have any trouble encountering bad guys unless the server is empty.
One way around this also,is if you can only capture a flag that is adjacent to a flag you already on. Is this called Attack and Secure? That way, front lines develop. the only problem with this is that even though you cannot CAP out of order, you should still be allowed to sneak to those backflags and steal vehicles. corrupt rules servers will no doubt say you can't even attack a flag out of order even though it's uncappable.
Anyway, no non-mod in BF has ever done this (to my knowledge, I have not played BF Vietnam and am not that familiar with 2142), maybe they should do it though, it would certainly help facilitate large maps.
