I went with ACOG + straight pull on the SV98 since day one, as thats what I used in BC2, and I usually have no issues with other players. Quicker ADS and no glint allows me to dance around out in the open just long enough to get that headshot on a player using cover.

Anyone actually getting one shot chest kills up close? Probably at around 10m or less, I got around 80 instead of 100. Happened like 5 times, so I dont trust it and went back to using pistols.

L96>SV98>M40 the rest of the snipers are for noobs. :biggrin:

I like the 8x scope, no glint and its good enough for headshots at moderately long ranges and fast enough to ADS at mid ranges. If Im on top of someone Ill just no scope them anyhow.

8x does have a glint. Any zoom past 7x has a glint, unless they changed it.

I wonder if going into ads has anything to do with it. I' ve seen a video where the guy ran around and hip fired with a bolt action and got like 15 OHKs in a row. I usually quickscope up close.

SKS is my fall back when it is super close quarters.

I'm going to give this a shot the next time I play. I'm pretty fast with semi auto fire, so it might be better rushing with the SKS as opposed to a bolt action.

Well Ive learned something new, the 8x does have "medium glint" http://bf3blog.com/battlefield-3-rifle-scope/

Hasnt hurt my snipage in the least, so I guess Ill stick with it.

Breaking habits can be tough once you are used to playing a certain way. I remember how all of the BF3 bolt rifles drove me insane until I unlocked the straight pull bolt. I was so used to the sniping in CoD and when I had to unscope to work the bolt........ man that was a killer.

SKS was awesome in beta, but they nerfed it for release IIRC, made me a sad panda. All I remember was using it in the beginning it lacked any punch compared to the beta, and all assault rifles > SKS, so I abandoned it after getting unlocks. Does fire faster than EMR though

After reading what had been posted here, I used the M26 MASS for the first time tonight. I underslung it from the G3 and WOWZERS, that thing is beastly! I was destroying people with the buckshot, then I unlocked the darts..........Sniping with a shotgun was the most fun Ive had playing this game in a while. LOL

Also, this game is over 9000 for fun level when played on voice. Also, Zargon never throws ammo. That is all.

Basically it fires 12 35 dmg bullets at full .308 bullet speed in a tight cone. Instant death to anyone within 50 yards (maybe even 100). Hope they fix this bug soon lol.

I'm a big fan of the M4, medium range, fast, accurate. Can't wait to unlock slugs for it. Shotguns with ironsights, flechette (an eventually Slugs) makes me so happy. You have to be accurate, but if you are, nothing can touch you. Only issue is that unlike the 870, I can be a bit more reckless with it.

It's an 870 on crack, and I love it.

I can hear people moving around sometimes and can get a bead on where they are but it seems hit and miss. But Ive never heard even the faintest noise when being knifed from behind.

I heard a sneak up knife attack once. It was either Zargon or LeonLee but I heard them a split second before the attack robbing them of their humiliating kill

Ooooohh that's what's going on... I was wondering why I was getting so many lucky 1-shot multi-kill gibs with underslung dart at like 30 yards but miss people at point blank range. Lol.

Yeah - I had been wondering about the sudden increase in that weapon use

I've taken to ACOG 4x for sniping and HOLO for aggressive sniping, beats having the glare advertising your presence. Finally unlocked all M98 stuff, much, MUCH prefer the M40A5

I am a big fan of the M40A5. I prefer medium sized maps and I think its a perfect fit for those

Yeah - whats up with that Zargon? Top 55% heals per minutes? Why are you a worse teammate than the average BF3 player?

I agree that removing commander took away much of the strategy that BF2 encouraged. On really good BF2 servers, squad leaders would actually take the commanders' commands seriously, and you could set up a strong defense of multiple positions. In theory, with Rush there's less to think about, because you only have two points to attack/defend, but even so, I find a lot of players just don't move towards those objectives. I think in every case, the defenders stopped attackers dead in their tracks in the games we played last night.

Oh well, next time...

Yeah, a good commander could turn the tide and win a round. Between coordinating squads, spotting and dropping assets/supplies.

What I would give for Artillery again. Kill the 10 snipers that are always on top of the same building every single game over and over and over.
