Wow, some snipers (campers) are getting defensive.
The problem with snipers was too many of them. Giving them CQC abilities isn't a proper solution, the solution should invove less people using the class.
and the reason for any game having too many snipers is the inherent nature of the position to stay away from danger and the glamorous appeal of delivering death from afar (ie super attractive to the cowards and the KDR whores, which encompasses the vast majority of gamers)
if we truly want to reduce sniper population, nerfing needs to be done to the long range abilities, not close quarters where the player actually has to be close to the action and at far greater risk, albeit far better able to help accomplish team objectives
Then the question must be asked, why have the class at all if you are going to nerf long range abilities? Are you that gung ho for sniper CQC that you'd sacrifice so much for 1 hit kills? Why not play a class that's actually intended for CQC then?

I really hate class limits. What if the only class left is the class you suck worst at? Then at that point aren't you just hurting your own team?
I've actually never seen a class limits server but from what I've heard they probably just limit snipers, with no limit on other classes. The only other class that makes sense to limit is Engineer.
I too have only seem sniper limit servers, but I'm waiting for them to limit medics too.
I just keep having flash backs to DoD, where all the "good" classes were limited and the then worst class was unlimited.

One actually had the limit of sniper rifles. So you could still play recon but not equip a rifle. What sucked was that it didn't give you a warning and just killed you.

yeah, the ones I've played on were 1 recon per squad limits.
its annoying though, on heavy metal, when all your recon slots are full of losers that cant snipe to save their life and you keep getting sniped/mortard trying to cap b

I have to say, one thing I hate about Heavy Metal is when you own B and you spawn there, you spawn like on the backside like 40 yards out of B on the way back to your own main. I understand doing that on small maps where if you don't, you'll spawn right into shooting but Heavy Metal is a big map and that bull just causes you to have to run that much farther to get after the next flag.

What? When did they annouce that? That's one of my favorite things to do in BC2 is to sit in the bushes and watch people walk by me.
I don't think it's been announced, but there was a pic from a magazine scan on the last page or 2 that showed recon in normal clothes. Who knows, perhaps the appearances might change depending on urban or 'rural' maps.
