Alpha is only until August 1. Maybe that's why they added so many. Also as a way to get people to try Origin.

BC2 has made me terrible at this game, although I still clocked in the #3 spot on my god awful team. While the pacing is somewhere in between, it's closer to BF2 than BC.

What do you mean by that? The pace? Firing technique?

Both. Pace closer to old BF than BC. Firing... initial recoil feels higher than BC but max recoil generally seems lower.

Firing sounds really muffled for some reason. Not being able to change my keys is awful. Everything looks pretty washed out or over saturated. Rocket has tons of drop but it reloads really quick. Game gets real slow if everyone starts proning instead of rushing. Rocket & nades seem very weak against infantry.

I agree all the weapons are too quiet, but the environmental effects on them sound awesome and they sound good from far away. It is a little too bright and oversaturated outside. Nades are stronger than BC2.

There have been issues for some playing the BF3 Alpha with Nvidia video cards. They have just released a set of drivers to deal with this issue.

I was getting about 40-45fps on average using the "high" setting at 1080 with i5-2500k @4.2Ghz and 5850 stock clock. It's so early to get worked up about it but overall gameplay was smooth. I have no problem using BF3 as an excuse to get a new vid card

Awesome, that's exactly the setup I'm going to be running for the launch in October. Might end up grabbing a second 5850 if Xfire ends up giving a nice boost for fps.

If not, I'll be satisfied with 40-45 fps. I play at 1680x1050 anyway so I might not even need the second card. Thanks for the info!

Awesome. I know when I finally got into a server I crashed after 15 minutes. I was even on the beta drivers.

So where did it say the Alpha was over on Aug 1?

Oh nice, I'll try those drivers out when I get home. My machine at home was constantly freezing. If I wanted to test, I was basically staying late to use my work PC. Though, initial reports are not good from the forums about it fixing the crash issues.

Side note, if anyone wants to group up shoot my an invite. My soldier name is "Canbacon".

I'm going to go ahead and say it. Battlelog is awesome also. I like the interface a lot...proper server browser, etc. Freaking sick.

The game itself starts from battlelog, which has the server browser, stats, etc. I actually like it better. You pick a server, you can add friends, have them join on you, all sorts of stuff...then the game launches from there.

played great on my monster i7 2600SB @ 4.6 and my 580s

no washed out colors here at all looked amazing and super fluid and fast.

Sound was great using a Logitech G39 wireless gaming headset had to turn them down.

very fast and frantic.. love playing medic!

No key remapping SUCKS! struggled big time with their key maps.

I definately heard them mention Platoons, which seemed to be their name for the groups commonly known as "clans". All I did was download it last night, I didn't really get to try it out. Had my weekly BF2/CTF event going on.
