GeForce GTX 260

The GeForce GTX 260 is the fourth most popular graphics card on Steam, used by 4.19% of gamers on the service as of August 2011. Though three years old, the card puts up a respectable performance. You can play the game at 1680 x 1050 at Medium Quality. As noted in the graphics quality section, at Medium, the game looks quite a bit better than Low but doesn't have the polish of higher quality settings.

The GeForce GTX 460 is the first card that gives you that unique Battlefield 3 "look" while maintaining solid framerates. At 1680 x 1050, the card lets you play at High Quality settings, which gives you most of the graphical bells and whistles, including antialiasing, ambient occlusion, detailed geometry, and detailed textures. The GeForce GTX 460 performs very well at this setting.

They will be wiped. The only thing you get to keep is your soldier name. (Which is funny seeing as you pretty much had no choice in the matter).

So are they going to show an actual list of squads in release? How am I supposed to join friends' squads if it just randomly assigns you? This is the most frustrating stupid thing in game for me, as I frequently play with 2 squads of friends at once.

Don't think they've turned that feature on yet.

It tries to stick you on the same squad if you're friends like in BC2, but you can't create your own squad at the moment.

Any word on whether or not they're sticking to the squad spawn system or is it switch to leader only at some point?

Yeah, it is especially annoying when squad members spawn on you and you are in a tight spot and then they nudge you out on accident and boom dead. I had that happen a few times, was keeping our squads spawn pretty deep in the enemies area and I would be under fire and then a few people spawn on me and I get nudged a tiny bit out from cover and boom lol

When someone spawns on you? It just happens passively. It's like the spawn point for the squad member is a fraction to close and so when the new member spawns it moves them a tiny bit. Most of the time it isn't even a factor cause you are moving. Only times I really seem to notice it, is as I said above small areas without much room to start with, it might be that the spawn point on the member that is being spawn on is fine, but once the player that just spawned gets dropped in, the environment pushes them a tiny bit bumping them into you, but I don't believe this is the case.

I played the Caspian map a little last night...and finally got a chance to get in a jet just to see how it flew...

The map was lagging pretty bad so I couldn't assess how bad it was to try to fly with a mouse...

Flying seemed impossible...I felt like a spaz trying to turn with my mouse...

Will this game basically require a flight stick to fly a jet?

If so could you use a logitech joystick in its place? I used to LOVE how easy it was to fly a chopper in BF2...I had it down to a science with the cobra...in BC2 it was hard as hell to control for me for some reason...

Anyone that has flown the chopper in the new BF3 is it similar to BC2 or BF2?

I got to fly the chopper some in Caspian and the controls were quite different than BC2, much more like BF2 (from what I remember...haven't played BF2 in many years). I would crash pretty quickly in BF3 with the chopper. In BC2 I was quite competent flying with keyboard and mouse, but from what I remember BF2 pretty much required a joystick.

Firstly, no, if your mouse sensitivity is high enough, I had great success flying jets with my m+kb, but it takes a bit to get used to The aiming for kills is better, but I think flying with a joystick is easier. Mine died during the demo though lol

As for choppers, I'm a huge chopper fan. Loved flying in BF2, whether it was the cobra, lil' bird, or BH, I loved flying them. In BC2, it was (still) incredibly easy to rack up some nice k/d ratios if your team controlled AA, but the heli's lacked realistic physics, and honestly were not very fun to fly (I still made the mad dash for them however ). You were also always exposed, and spent a good deal of time "dueling" with enemy choppers.

I feel BF3 has taken what's good with choppers in BF2 and taken it to the next level. Choppers have a weighty feel, and once you start getting the physics down, you can start having fun. They're really glass cannons, as jets can easily take them down if they stay high, AA turrets, stingers, and those goddamn AA tanks also will make short work of the chopper.

However, this all changes with a competent gunner. The gunner cannon is FAR more potent in BF3 than it was even in BF2. A full round burst will disable all tanks, and I know there are unlocks for guided/tv missiles, as well as quick unlocks for rapid reloads + improved optics (such as Therm/IR vision as seen in the Caspian Border trailer).

I'm a very, very happy camper with my choppers for BF3

I set it on ultra at 1080p with my dual GTX 460s and Phenom II X3 720. Minimum frames were in the teens, average was around 20. max around 40. Not too terrible. I imagine it might become playable with a little dose of Bulldozer, game optimization and improved SLI scaling.

I wish we had a proper benchmark for it though.

Anyone having issues with basically all the servers?

I installed a gtx460 tonight latest 285.38 drivers all that happens is i enter a game and i have no weapon in my hand....

F doesn't throw a nade absolutely nothing works control wise besides walking and jumping and the menu...no gun control you don't even seen the gun in your hand..

Three servers in a row the same exact thing anyone have any idea what it is?

Edit:just tried yet another server....same exact thing....4 in a row i can run sprint jump that is it...IDK if now im playing mario duck hunt on the nes and i'm the duck or what .
