Hard turns, flying behind terrain (like mountains of Kharg and Firestorm), and flying away from the missile launch direction, which you can usually decipher if you're aware of battle and/or other jet locations. That's what I do, anyway.

I kept getting roadkilled when trying to do it because most people have proximity scanners by now... people laughed at me on the server when i asked them to let me tourch their vehicles... they then told me I can torch an enemie's spawn beacon and get the same achievement - so I found an enemie's spawn beacon, torched it and got my achievement...

You can take out an enemy vehicle with the blow torch or instead of knifing some dude, just lite him up. :biggrin:

Basically, to kill a dude with the torch you have to be sneaky and just surprise them. Look for a sniper hiding somewhere.

When you get the next assignment and have to take out a vehicle with the torch... basically you either have to get up next to someone in a jeep who is gunning and doesn't see you and notice what's going on, or you need to get next something that other people just rocketed and try and finish it off. Huge pain either way.

I found a guy in a weird place on Kharg mortaring, lit him on fire, was LOL worthy.

Torching a person was easy, I actually did it a few more times just for the LOL's. Torching a vehicle was near impossible, had to have a friend help me out on that one.

I torched a vehicle the other day on Canals. Just happened to be behind the right cover when a tank rolled around the corner, and torched it because I didn't have any rockets lol!

Just got the L85 myself by torching a spawn beacon, nice! Nearing the end of these unlocks, lotta fun I must say piling these stats up. The hardest one was the Squad TDM, though I got lucky and joined a server where my squad rolled off 5 wins in 6 matches. SQTDM seems a little imbalanced, I spawned RIGHT NEXT to the APC on Karkand three times and my teamate another time during those six matches. The other two were on Oman so...

That would never work on a hardcore server. I personally think it is cheap to view your vehicle in 3rd person mode. But, meh... to be clear, I am NOT calling you out. All the really good guys in normal mode do the same thing. I just don't like it.

3rd person view does nothing for me other than making me crash my aircraft and/or help me not land my helicopter on something that might tip me over lol. I don't fly with it, its useless and in this game it makes me lose my bearings pretty fast.

Avoiding missiles in a helicopter is much easier (other than those quick Stinger shots) because you can fly low and behind any and all terrain and buildings, which the missiles will crash into. In a jet though, not so much. Hard turn to the deck and away from the action with full afterburner and hope your flares come off cooldown in time

Agreed, that was annoying. Especially without a teammate to drive for you - I driving to the action, quick switching to the gunner seat and hoping to tag 1-2 before I got smoked. Took a couple maps.

Well, you sure do love to cover the bases for just about minority position possible.

The server browser is indeed, IMHO, a joke.

It would be much better if they stuck to the tried and true in-game server browser with complete filter configuration.
For that matter, incorporating it into the UI isn't all that difficult. Just put the whole damn thing into HTML5 and incorporate that in the game with a wrapper. At least, it can be done... I can't speak as for the difficulty of such an undertaking. :\

It would be great to have pretty much all of the battlelog features, without all the ESN bullshit. Or simply put all the ESN technology into the game itself for when we don't want to run it through a browser, but keep it so we can access the info outside of the game. That way, EA can also justify the original expense of all the ESN bullshit in the first place, and continue to please those who actually find any of it useful (of which, I agree, some is quite spectacular, some is very lackluster though).

Battlelog and the server browser are both amazing. I simply cannot understand how anyone would disagree with that. Instantaneous server browsing, the ability to do other stuff while your game is loading, the best alt-tab support of any game in history, a huge amount of filter options, and the ability to be updated constantly without effecting your players is all huge.

More games will follow this example in the future if you ask me, and I welcome it.

Agreed.
Battlelog is one of the few things I like about BF3
