Now bring back the AT4. Skilled engineers deserve loving. And get rid of that stupid orange box, it makes it hard to see shit.

As for the UI, fix it. The spawn map is almost useless at times. Having only two colors, blue and white,makes it impossible to figure out where the hell you're spawning. The damn 15 overlapping skulls cover the entire spawn point and hide the little flashing circle thing. Let us CLICK the point were we want to spawn, this isn't a console game, we have mice.



Look at this. Simple, clean, tells me all i need to know, isn't in some ADHD blue and white hologram theme. I can quickly and easily tell it where to spawn.

I'm still gonna find a way to make it work...and I need my gunner, so leave Zargon alone!

Also, when will helipilots get some horn love??? At the very least give it to the battle bus so when I land on snipers I can do it with (even more) style

Some good updates. Off the top of my head the only significant thing missing that I can think of is not being able to kill people in the HMMV with bullets. I kinda dont like reducing the attack gunners effectiveness against tanks, but overall 95% of the changes seem for the better.

Your point is definitely valid, but one thing I will say that the more you play the game, the less you have to rely on the maps know where to click to spawn. I'm sure DICE just went down the route of trying to make the UI look as cool as possible and ended up killing useability, but I think for the sake of gameplay, it ended up working out in their favor because I think it adds a level of challenge.

Me personally, if I see a red blip on the screen because some enemy is firing on me from a certain direction, it's an extra challenge to figure out where exactly he's shooting from. I'd rather not have my HUD telling me his exact location.

There isn't, it automatically deploys when you ADS if you are close to a deployable object (i.e. ledge, crate) or you go into prone.

Erm...well I guess you could call it your ADS key...

I meant they said they were going to add a key to deploy and stow the bipod instead of it being auto. I don't see that change being listed.

Now I can properly run over people with a battle cry! :thumbsup:

The last thing they will hear right before getting run over will be my jeep's horn... they hear a jeep horn, turn towards my jeep = face plant on my hood - imagine the psych it will cause on people!

-The Knife now only takes two swipes to kill when attacking from a position where a takedown is not possible.

Now I can be a NINJA again! :ninja:

I missed those days of flanking a squad or group and knifing 5 soldiers in a row...

This is probably extremely late news but has anyone else tried the color blind mode? It's helped me out a lot with spotting. The colors on the enemy bars just pop out more and don't blend in with the terrain as much.

Once I tried color blind mode I never went back. It does help tremendously.

On another note...I am loving the extended mags on the As Val. YESSSS!!

Sigh. It's nice that flares will be able to distract laser guided missiles but I don't see anything about a javelin locking tone fix. Combine that with the increased damage that laser guided munitions will inflict on vehicles and you're looking at one hit KOs of the battle bus.

On a side note, the lack of a "crew eject" key for venom/kasatka pilots is disappointing.

and fixing the weirdo ECM wont deply deal

if they fixed tone, did that stinger buff, fixed ECM and javelin tones, I would be in love

I think SLU and I are just going to die alot more in the helo, now that stingers will work

and tanks will be a rape fest because you engies will carry stingers to down air power easier but the tanks are now stronger than ever

I was basically screwed until they added it. It's still not that perfect imho.

But see, I actually am mildly "color blind" (color deficiency, red/green)... so before it was added (December?), I was basically shooting everyone (and afraid to approach 3D spots, thinking they might get the bead on me if I can't determine fast enough they are enemy)... there were quite a few situations, depending on enemy and willingly to draw attention, that basically meant I couldn't attack at some times without being killed (or being lucky and finding it was only a bunch of teammates).

But the color blind mode in BF3 is still definitely lacking imho, at least for my colors. It also depends on monitor accuracy, and the shades they used, well, my IPS monitors can make it challenging.

Mind you, I can still basically determine enemy if I can SEE the colors (they are distinct enough on that front, shade and color wise), but... the shades chosen can also be incredibly hard for me to spot against the background (sometimes... yet sometimes just as easy as I'd expect).
In BF:BC2, the color-blind mode made it VERY easy to determine, in any situation, who was who or what was going on.

Oh well, that's just griping. I would prefer the colors/shades used in BC2, but the lighting engine also complicates matters. In the end, with this being the option that it is, I still rely upon it and absolutely cannot touch the standard mode.

And yeah, I noticed the color/shade choices for color-blind mode definitely seemed like they would help everyone. The default colors/shades used were just ridiculous compared to normal conventions, at least, when including this particular lighting engine in the equation.

All around I am actually quite happy. Weapons more unique/weapons feature more unique traits that are closer to reality. And MBT buff? Seriously, it was ridiculous before. one hit disable from side? :awe: excellent - gotta make sure them engi's nearby (if any) get taken out too though, else that is all for null. Also, hopefully the one-hit on aircraft from the MBT's main gun doesn't result in even more people aiming for the skies. I've done it from time to time, but I also typically only seem to focus on likely bad pilots (or not paying attention), or in general at times when it seems my timing will be greatly improved (they are close and low, not really going top-speed or even defensively maneuvering as much as possible (and/or don't notice my tank)) and I have managed a few hits (I think I even killed a bird or at least disabled one)... but I try not to do it much with the main gun.
I hate being the top gunner and my tanker is spending a lot of time focusing on shooting skyward.

I still don't get why flares confuse a laser paint on the SOFLAM. It's a laser, not an IR seeker. If I'm lasing a target, short of popping a flare right at the point I'm lasing, it shouldn't matter how many flares you pop. And bummer on there being no manual laze for the SOFLAM...

Also they also reduced the engineer's repair tool speed = longer repair time for vehicles = take down of the battle bus faster if cannot repair fast enough...

FYI Do not install the newest nvidia drivers 295.73 yet. They cause punkbuster to autokick you for cheating. Ask me how I know. -_-

They need to fix the crashes and game freezing while loading the next map.

For the loading problem. I've been doing the following:

1) C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3\bf3.exe - Right-click, choose Compatibility Tab, Check Disable Visual Themes and Disable Desktop Composition.

2) Before each load between matches, I alt tab out and then tab back in.

Well it was kind of silly not being able to disable a aircraft with a rpg/anti-air with one shot. Same with tanks..i can't count the times i've hit tanks on tracks/back and they just don't take damage. Especially with all the countermeasures they have to use.
