Back in the day we used to all fight each other all the time when Tugboat was running. Destiny, Panda and Spike used to be a pain in the butts because we generally play the same way and would always run into each other. But when on the same squad it was usually pretty devastating. If we didnt win, we would always get Squad MVP, and finish MVP1 - 3.

But it was definitely fun playing against everyone. You learned how they play, so when they post you know how they do what they do. You have guys like Quantum who head glitch and camp with tactical lights. Vulgar uses an aimbot. Aequitas and CanBacon are tank whores. And Zargon, well, even the sun shines on a dogs butt once in a while. :biggrin: j/k everybody!

Used to have like 10 or more ATers on a server. I think us west coasters used to go against the east coasters, because we'd join after everyone was already on a side. It was fun showing up on a server and breaking up an AT squad's dominant run. Or at least being a pain in their butts!

Theres not enough of us playing at the same time to do that now, so its better to squad up when you can.

Ive played with Zarg, Bacon, Wolverine, and Durvelle quite a bit, I saw Aequitas for a while on an AK map the other day when I was playing with Wolverine. He was tearing them up in a jet.

Ive seen Quantom and Expandas on a few times, but in full servers and I usually go elsewhere since I hate waiting in queues.

The rest of you must be the night owls or west coasters. Which of you is Roadkill? He usually logs off around the time I log in early in the mornings.

Anyone been using the Spas-12 with slugs in CQ, that is freaking sweet... so much fun. I also have been running around just using the .44 and knife in CQ which is another fun thing to do. last round I played with using .44 and knife went 47-15 and first place in points

I haven't thought about using slugs with it. Slugs were awesome in BC2, but to me they don't seem as effective in BF3. I'll give it another go the next time I play. Anyways, the SPAS-12 is such a great shotgun.

You guys think it would be cool to get on team speak, squad up and make a video with different player perspectives showing how BF3 team work and ass Pwning is supposed to be done? I think it would make a great video that people would enjoy watching.
We could each record on FRAPS and then include footage in the video from different players persectives that shows the action that we are talking about during gameplay. I think it would be great. It would take a little work, but it would be worth it.
Each player would send their FRAPS recording to a single person who would then use all of the collective footage to make a multi-perspective movie and sync it with the audio.

EDIT: I want to add something about playing and talking at the same time. At first, I found it to be frustrating and thought it distracted me from playing well. But after doing it for a short while, the communication with a team mate became second nature and is now very valuable. I think we could practice a few rounds and get good as a communicating squad and then make a video showing us kicking that ass and communicating like pros.

Anyhow, I finally found out you can switch to the anti-air guns on the AC-130 = similar when switching seats on a tank.

Also when i'm the only one in the AC-130 I would switch seats back and forth to fire flares... each seat has its on set of flares

Nope, I think the most distressing thing is that people don't use the flares enough with the 130. I often see people just sticking to the cannons instead of switching to the AA.

I like those people as even a total newbie to jets can get kills on the 130.

Yep... I would fire my flares and still hear incoming missles/stingers... I would yell at the other guy to fire his flares but he won't or doesn't know how... then we all fall to our firey deaths... It took me awhile how to figure out to use the AA guns - I always get shot down by an AC-130s AAs...

I think this would be an accurate description of the attitudes and behavior of some players here. Especially Arkaign in a god forsaken tank and Expandas in his ludicrous jet machines. These guys are sicker than others in both skill and aggression. Roadkill as well and i'm sure others qualify for this kind of insane K/D ratio aggressive gameplay.

So, good idea? Bad idea? I'm doing it anyways so if you wanna join let me know and we can form a clan together and take this to another level.

Not to sound offensive, but I am not fond of using a tech site as a clan tag. I think a clan name should reflect something about the way the members play the game. It should indicate something about what makes that clan unique and why it stands out from others and the name should stand on its own merits and not rely on the merits of other entities. Just my opinion.

Hey, is it realistic for someone to have 30% of their kills to be headshots with a PKP pecheneg or other heavy machine gun?

I checked my stats on that site and these came up as "suspicious".

G3A3Headshot/Kill-Percentage40.38

M4Headshot/Kill-Percentage30.67

M240Headshot/Kill-Percentage31.23

UMP45Headshot/Kill-Percentage35.19
Here's my kills with each weapon.
G3A3 - 52
M4 - 225
M240 - 269
UMP45 - 54

The G3 makes sense a bit, not a huge sample size and I did use it more like a sniper rifle with short burst and the first going for headshots. I also play a lot of HC servers so one shot kills aren't uncommon with a G3 to the head.

M4 and M240 surprised me a bit, that's not a small sample size. I also never use bipods, so yeah it's very possible to get that accuracy on a LMG.

I'm ~top 10% player in my standard weapons, so nothing special. I'd expect a LMG whore could do closer to 35%

edit: I want to know my accuracy with M320 smoke. I get so many kills with it.

DOH!

The AC130 puts out some epic flares, I dont think Ive ever been hit by a missile in it.

I try to stick to the cannon because it seems jets always attack from my blind side when Im in the AA seat, I never see em coming, just hear the ping of their bullets hitting me. Then there is usually so much smoke and flames I cant see to shoot them as they fly off either!

ATOT or AT (AnandTech) is not a clan. We just use it so we know when one of us Login a server or to identify each other - so we may treat each other with respect, squad up, or take each other's dog tags!

According to that website posted, I have a 40% headshot with the PKP

It's a pretty sick gun on bipod. Most noobs like to hold down the trigger and spam. I think it's better to tap for single round bursts.

The little bird pilot in the second video was amazing.

Sorry if I am a little sensitive. I have never created a clan before so I am a little insecure about it and I can't tell if people are trolling me or not, especially when people say things like "can i follow your clan on facebook" when the clan doesn't even exist yet. I want to start a simple, fun clan and have a few simple ideas that I think would make it fun.
We could do stuff like have clan tryouts and invite the new guy to an empty server and test his willingness to join by ganging up on him and kicking his ass haha. Or more realistically, have tryouts to see what their specific strengths are so we can learn how to organize our team better.
I'm open to suggestions. I wouldn't want it to be all my idea because that would just suck. I want it to be a group effort for whoever is interested in starting a fun, casual clan. And sure, we could have a facebook page with links to our stats and even show videos of some games etc. Why not?

Playing for a few weeks and I think my only real gripe is with spawning. I haven't played BC2 in a while but I felt like the spawn points were more random and more intelligent, whereas in BF3 I feel like I regularly end up spawning right in the line of fire and getting killed practically instantly (when spawning to points that is). I don't think BC2 had any pre-defined spawns (I could just be remembering incorrectly) and I've ended up dying occasionally to enemies seemingly camping some of the set locations.

Also Metro conquest sucks. I greatly preferred Conquest in BC2 but the more I play the more I feel like the maps in BF3 are more fun on Rush.
