Your squadmate up there asked for ammo, so I ran up there to give you guys some, and as soon as I got up there you guys got killed and so did I. After that when the chopper came I was suppressing it with the M60 I had, I wonder if that actually did anything or not? (still unsure what happens to guys in a chopper if I'm shooting near them and I've got the Squad Suppression perk)

Ive never felt any suppression effect while in a vehicle.

Belt fed LMG's are horrible for accuracy unless using a bipod from a stationary position, but I do pretty well with them running and gunning with them at close ranges. Most of the time the suppressive effect on people is enough to throw them off long enough to land enough hits to take them out. IMO the M60 the absolute worst of the bunch, I prefer the PKP Pecheneg.

Yeah I'm finding that out... I wonder though why DICE made them that way? If you take an average Army M240B gunner and have him aim hip fire his gun from 5-10 yards away, there is no way the average bullet spread would be remotely close to the insanity that DICE has it set to now. I'm not looking for lazer like bullet spread, but something within some realm of reality would be nice.

It seems from reading a little online that you're not alone on the PKP Pecheneg preference. I'm just working my way through all the belt feds, when I'm done with the M60 I think I'll go back to the PKP...it can't be a bad decision with so many preferring it.

What is your BF3 name again? Next time we are on together we can do a test. I'll hover a chopper inront of you and you can blast me with the M60 to see what happens regarding damage and suppression.

do some of the later AT rocket launchers only take 1 -2 hits to kill a tank?

Seems like I get killed by them alot and they only take 2 hits and i'm dead.


There's also some really good pilots out there. wow! I can't control the jets or helos worth a crap.

The javelin's top down attack will disable/destroy a tank in one or two hits.

I hate those really good pilots.......they are making my jet learning experience a living hell!

Nothing more troubling than a good jet pilot, especially to a sniper. Can be very frustrating and force me to constantly change my strategy. But you know what they say, adapt or die right? It was funny, I was playing with xpandas and another friend. Me and the other guy were sniping together and xpandas was on the opp team as a jet pilot, but we were all three on teamspeak and my friend was telling me where he was located and he was mentioning my location and warning me of tanks etc. I was like, "dude your calling in an xpandas airstrike on our asses! Shut up!

If you get hit in the weak points you can get taken down pretty fast, but most tanks have Reactive Armor which means they're going to be noticeably more difficult to bust than yours will be without it.

Haha, not that it'd have mattered, but if I'd just had the 3.4x scope I'd at least been able to harrass you before getting killed. I kept thinking, next time I get killed, I'll spawn with the M240B and see if I can't do better. Then I looked at the team score...was like F it...

Is that effective though when the other guy is shooting, or as I keep having happen to me, about to be shooting at me (as I'm hosing him down and 1 in 15 bullets are hitting him from 12 feet away )?

I am almost there for a system to handle BF3. My weakest link is the video card. I have a Zotac synergy Nvidia 210 card. Oh and I would need a better PSU to handle a new graphics card.

Good thing is that I can buy BF3 premium that would save me time from unlocking features and at a much cheaper price.

Honestly, I do not have the time to play for hours on end to unlock features. No fun factor in that for me.

Of course, you bf3 vets will still eat me alive....lol!!

Radeon 7750 can handle BF3 at decent res w/lower details at a good framerate, I know because I just upgraded a box to serve as a 3rd BF3 seat when a buddy comes over and needs it. The 7750 is cheap and requires no special PSU.

Premium unlocks all weapons? Really? Man it's tough for me to shell out 50 when I have the vanilla version.

Premium doesn't unlock everything. It gives you a few premium only items (special dogtags, a different knife come to mind) and I think gives you a few of the very early unlocks for some classes/vehicles right off the bat. It also enables "assignments" which are basically unlock 'quests' (kill 20 enemies with X and arm 5 MCOMs to unlock weapon Y, that kind of thing) to open up some more different equipment. And of course it gives you access to the DLC.

There are "shortcut" bundles for sale that let you unlock stuff, but they're separate from premium.

Don't worry too much about gun unlocks, not very many of them are really that hot, and they're pretty easy to unlock quickly if you want.

If you're wanting gun unlocks for a class, just head into 64P deathmatch on Norshar Canals. Even if you suck, you can quickly go something like 20-80 in a match. Getting hundreds of kills over a few hours is easy even if you're terrible. Grab a shotgun, bang bang bang.

Vehicle unlocks are far more important, but they go pretty quickly as well.

64 player TDM is a spawnkilling turkey shoot, if you cant get kills there........

I'll tell you the secret that works for several people (including a ~40yo dude who has never played a PC FPS before) .. just equip the DAO-12 and make a freaking beeline to the shipping container area in the middle (so you can not be constantly sniped or hit by LMG at long/medium range). Once inside don't sprint, but walk around each corner with your shotty aimed high chest/neck area, as soon as you see a baddie, click the LMB like mad. I guarantee no matter how new you are to BF3 you will put a lot of people down like that. Just keep moving and keep shooting. Pretty quick you'll unlock the extended mag, and then you won't have to reload so much. Good thing about DAO-12 is you can even shoot in the middle of a reload. Once you unlock AEK-971 for the assault, that's a freaking epic assault rifle, take that for a spin on Kharg deathmatch.

But yeah, Norshar + DAO-12 + beeline for shipping containers (middle of map). Blam blam blam.

Play as a Recon using a shotty or PDW and place a TUGs in those containers and you will have even more of an edge. Watch for those orange bad guys on your hud and start shooting before they come around corners.

Played a 48 player Metro server with Expandas last night. The game makes me rage so hard. Then the round ends and I see my score and it's 136-11 lol. Guess I was doing better than I thought.
