Got to lvl 26 on my warrior, and it is pretty ridiculous how easy it is once I paired a greatsword with the regeneration signet. Mobs five levels over me or getting jumped by five mobs? No problem. Seems to be no 'oh shit' moves though so far if you do get over your head, and the runspeed is horrible compared to my ele, but overall I can see how a warrior could be the best farmer.

Hit lvl 10 in spvp also last night. Went back to staff and seem to be doing pretty good with it. The occasional Mesmer and Thief give me issues, but I haven't been hundred bladed at all in a few days. One Thief burst me somehow, after being in stealth for a long time - 22k health and 1400 toughness, and he burnt me down in under 2 seconds somehow...gotta play that class more to figure out what he did.

As I said before, Warrior is just very easy. They have no really advanced mechanics or combos, they just have brute force and a lot of it. My problem is that no one uses anything aside from Greatswords (and Rifle secondary) as no other weapon has any real utility to make up for the difference in damage. The only spell that comes close is the Axe off-hand 5 skill that makes you whirl rapidly and damage everything in a large radius around you. It has the advantage of doing HB's damage but while able to move and dodge, the disadvantage is that it's got like 4x the CD so it's only useful if you'll pulled a few mobs in a pack where the real issue comes in, easy to overestimate yourself and pull too many and die in the mob.

Did a Caudecus Manor explorer mode and Citadel of Flame story mode over the weekend; the former sucked and was pretty long and pretty lame. The latter wasn't too bad, looked cool at least. Fairly unimpressed with being level 80 still; my friends want to try some of the other dungeons so I'll tag along but their stories are pretty meh and I can hardly find a reason to actually do the PvE. You can get a full set of 80 rare gear for just a few gold, and ultimately the difference between rare and exotic is not that great; plus I don't really see the application for it. I feel like I've struck a pretty good balance between offense and defense on my guardian already (except that they get real crappy HP lol) and I don't think simply getting slightly better gear would save me from getting instagibbed anyway, at least not without radically cutting my offense.

either he had someone else u didnt see, or he got majorly lucky and stacked a ton of things on you.

In a case like that, if see a theif, the first thing i do is hit endure pain so i wipe everything he put on me.

Then i will burst HB while he's trying to burst me.

Typically Warrior Burst >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Theif burst if both are face tanking... which results in the thief dead b4 u die.
However u may not be able to finish him the normal way with F, you may need to burst his dead body again to kill him.

Mesmers are a PITFA...
There is only 3 ways to beat them.
Rush them, Rush them again, and Rush them til no tomorrow.

Bull charge, or 5 key with great sword, or 5 key then bull charge, followed by a stomp for when they counter.

When you see them dazed, hit frenzy -> quickness + HB and watch the MES die faster then you can even type out LOL.
Ive done somewhere between 21-24k AoE dmg (with fire rune) in WvWvW and quite honestly watched 7 people kiss the floor with that combo.

Its also the most complained combo on Guildwars2 Guru and main forums saying it makes the warrior too OP.
The only counter for such a combo is either another type of endure pain, or a shield, as stomp / bullcharge will pull you out of hiding / stealth, and will Stun the crap out of you.

the guardian's primary role is to collect agro and live long enough for the others to DPS it to oblivion.
The warriors primary role is to support the guardian and DPS the target, while switching agro with the guardian long enough for him to regen.

You can not do the warriors role on guardian because the guardian has 1/3rd of the DPS the warrior has.

U need Toughness, ive told people this many times. Tig even goes full toughness + vit when we run dungeons because it does make a hugh difference.

My warrior is complete exotic'd out... even down to the accessories she wears.
You can call her paris hilton with all the bling she has.
When i swaped out to yellow gear to troll with magic find, the gear really made a big impact.
You assume its not much, but if you add all the additional stats on 11 pieces of EQ... 6 on body, and 5 accessories, they ADD up fast.

Lastly i was comparing with tig on ATK with his setup and mine.
I can say i have about 33% more ATK, with 25% more VIT @ simular tier'd eq, however he has more toughness + armor then i do. 2.3 def 3.4k ATK (warrior) / 2.8k def 2.6k Atk (guardian). Which is also a big reason why he can take more hits then i can with less life.

To build a Guardian full DPS, is like saying "I wish i rolled a warrior" build in my eyes, and have it be even more gimp then a shout/banner warrior in regards to DPS.

Ok I need some opinions and advices.

I started recently (from about Level 15 or so on my "main" character) to gather crafting materials as I explore the maps, and of course I also started to actually craft stuff with the accumulated collectibles and so on. So I first gave a try to all professions (well not within the same day, but maybe after 2 or 3 days I tried them all). I opted to "stick with" Weaponsmith and Armorsmith (very rarely switching professions).

There's one thing though... in most MMORPGs I've played in which there's any form of trading post or auction house I always had the following reflex: At Level 5, check auction house for Level 5 items and keep going (if quest reward items are still better then of course don't bother). Then, at Level 10, check again and buy anything that can be upgraded. Then... Level 15, check again. I usually repeat this process about every 5 Levels or so and keep "up to date" because most of the items in such games that I find from mobs are usually one or two Levels lower than my character's.

So far in this game I did that for only one of my five characters, my Guardian. From Level 10 I thought "ok let's check the trading post" and lo and behold I ended up buying Level 10 gear (which greatly helped my questing). In some games doing that until the character's Level cap can be a complete waste of in-game resources/money, and I am aware of it. Fortunately enough however it looks like this game's item drops system isn't bad at least for lower Level zones (or maybe it ain't related to zones but only related to the character's actual Level, but I'm not sure about that). So far I did find items of my "actual" character's Level, some of which were even of green (Masterwork?) quality (so for example being Level 20, fighting Level 19 to 21 mobs and finding a Level 20 green item that I can use, that did happen on a few occasions).

I have to ask then, is doing this in Guild Wars 2 "viable" in comparison to relying on crafting? Or is it "ok" in this game to not rely on crafting and instead just buy gear at the trading post from accumulated money by grinding (or selling the little that can be sold from crafting), or even to just rely on finding items from mobs and boss drops? Or... perhaps a better question would be: Is crafting in Guild Wars 2 a necessity?

Thanks (I'm just debating right now with myself, do I lose time with collecting materials left and right or will it really pay off in the long term if anything?).

To be brutally honest I don't use crafting for much, I have 400 jewelcrafting on my mesmer for the accessories but aside from that I don't really need maxed crafting. Why? Well it actually takes a sizable amount of resources to go from 1 to 400 (whether in 1 sitting or over a month) and you can typically sell off the equipment and just buy decent gear at the specific increments (roughly every 5-6 levels). Just sell the materials and you can easily fund the gear, and for level 80 gear I'd suggest just looking through the dungeon vendors and learning the easiest dungeon necessary for your gear (there's around 3 different tiers of dungeon vendors, they sell different stats but they're all level 80 exotics). Collecting materials goes towards monthly/daily achievements and gives you xp per gather too so it's worth it if it's not too far out of your way.

400 ws/as = OWNAGE when u were a warrior and now rerolled to a guardian.

Everything i craft is so much better (well i kinda cheated and used karma for recipies).

So on my guardian its been all about looks from the start, instead of the stats.

I craft more for the XP while leveling than anything else. Using some of the items is definitely fun but you end up crafting so much junk that again... it's mostly for the XP and the eventual payoff at 400.

You get a huge amount of XP for gathering materials as well.

I am enjoying these events way too much. The 3 chain event in harathi where you fight along side NPCs to a huge centaur boss leveled me right out of the zone. I havent even done hearts or explored at least half the zone.

SO far, it looks like they got this game right.
Perfect? Probably not. But damn, I am having fun....

And re the quote above. I use crafting for XP "gift" as well.
gives me time for bio break when crafting... Grab a soda.... Review my stuff..... Head back out. its a nice 15 minute vacation in ways...

PS, after reading the "EASE" of a warrior.... I started one last night. Have not died yet (level 7) where my Mezz and Ranger died a LOT.
I even missed some of my specials and took VERY little damge.
LOL the lunge one. So used to Diablo. Whereever the pointer is.. that is where you land.
Last nite. LUNGE like a madman only to end up 6 yards short. Sheepishly walk over and slice level 5 buck (I was 3) to death. Look around. "hope no one saw that".

YIKES!!!! I may stick with this class for a bit.

that place was great before ANet kicked in the diminishing returns code....and added butter/chocolate to loot bags. ><

A few of us were camping that out a few night in a row several weeks ago--easy XP for your monthly (death is difficult when you're surrounded by the mob), and piles and piles of blood, cloth, and merch fodder.

Hmm i didnt know they had a mechanism like that. I will have to check to see how much reduction I get for multiple runs in a given night. I usually run it then go off to craft or try to get in more questing. When I see the waypoint turn i head back and join in the fray.

Man these bots have gotten CRAZY last week or so. I think i reported like 30 today.

The sad thing is you see some stolen accounts with them. Lots of them named flfjdslfs, jlfsjlsfjs, jflsjfsljfs, then you see Ruffo(guild name) knowing its a hacked account. :/

What's worse is the multiboxing bots. In the Hinterlands, I saw 6 rangers, all with the same name differing by 1 letter, like XMFFXFSQ. They were all running in a big circle auto attacking everything, even white mobs. I sat and screenshotted and watched in amusement for 10 minutes as they were all literally got exactly 1 shot in, the mob dies, then they move on all in perfect synchronous movements.

Too bad mobs don't leash too far, I would have pulled a champion on them to see how they handled it.

ive done this.

and then res'd them.. pulled champ again.. res'd them pulled champ again.

Repeated until they were naked.

Then i think the bot owner came back and said a couple cursed words, and signed off... never saw that bot there again tho.

anyhow u guys want to see what a full exotic stats look like?

i know u guys were wondering what full exotics stats were, and if it was really "worth" it to get full exotics.
Well, lvl80 warrior in full exotics.

You can tell gear does not matter by watching those bots, none of them have any gear but a weapon and auto attacking mobs a couple levels higher than them. lol

i like pvp in wow but some people told me that pvp in GW2 is too simple .. is that true ? cause i like hardcore pvp ^^

so i have few more querstion :

1) there is a only one world vs world pvp map yes ?
2) and how many battlegrounds ???
3) is there openworld pvp like in wow ??
4) How good is PVP in GW2 ? is it hard to became pro player ? or its too simple ?

1) there is currently 1 WvW map. I'm not sure if there are plans for more, as it involves 3 servers based on ladder rankings. You can spend your time capturing/building bases, creating/protecting supply lines, recruiting merc NPCs, etc. Of course you can also have fun storming the castle.

sieges in WvW are more zergfest, though. Probably not very compelling for the hardcore.

2) sPvP involves two teams, randomly selected, and is more of a 1-on-1 type of PvP. I think it is more compelling for most, as it's all about skill. I wouldn't say it is terribly hardcore, as the skill set in GW2 limits you to certain weapon types per encounter. The trait system, however, gives you a wide range of build options. success is determined, expectedly, by your skill with your class, and understanding of the mechanics of the other class you are going against.

3) No open world PvP because that is ghey. ....also no friendly dueling, which I think would be nice. But I doubt that will ever happen.

4) How good it is, is completely relative. I guess you could become quite good, quite quickly, as you can create your class, instantly jump into PvP map and get autoleveled to 80, with full skills and traits (I think traits? maybe not) and rudimentary max gear. This lets you effectively test a class before making your choice. You will always be at a serious disadvantage playing against real max level players doing this, of course.

There are four WvW maps, though as I understand it three of them are essentially the same except for the name.

No battlegrounds in the traditional sense, but there is the "structured pvp" mode which is basically a PVP only setup. It allows characters to enter the "Mists" (pvp only area) as early as level 2 iirc, be auto-levelled to 80 and provides everyone the same gear selection. Past that there are then four sPVP maps.

No open world PVP. No dueling either.

Depends. Personally WvW is a mess imo. sPVP is ok, I think the game's camera and controls still need some work (I hate how when I click to rotate my camera my click sometimes still 'follows through' and changes my target as I rotate) but for a first effort the balance is pretty good at least.
