I'm still new to MMOs (I've only played 3 months of SWTOR before this) and was wondering if there were any good GW2 sites/articles on how to build a good class. I'm a level 11 warrior and am not sure what weapons to use or how to best allocate my traits. I can find different people's warrior builds but I'm more looking for information on why certain configurations make a good build so I can learn to build a good one myself. Also, I'm wondering if skills and traits are fixed for good or if there's a way in the game to reallocate the points if I make a mistake.
You can reset your traits at any profession trainer for a fee.
Additionally you can swap the Major traits at any time outside combat for free.
A general basis for a build is too have offensive tools and defensive tools - for example if you go for lines that give power and critical rate it might be a good idea to go for +toughness in the items.
Some advocate the best way to build is to allow you to be able spec in the most weapons.
A popular build is the 10/30/0/30/0 Greatsword/Shout Build.
A more defensive variant is the 10/0/30/30/0, generally relying on mace/shield or sword/shield or plain hammer with Shouts.
A 0/20/30/10/0 will allow you to trait a different number of weapons on demand - yes, that leaves 10 points to add somewhere else.
Going Arms early on open the infamous Deep Strike trait, that give +40 precision for every equipped signet that isn't on recharge and it is stupid powerful early on and up to around level 60 or 70.
