Fractals of the Mists
Fixed a bug that did not remove the Lava condition from players who died in the pools of lava at the final boss in the Volcano Fractal
Fixed a bug where players were stricken with Agony even when they avoided the Ice Elemental’s AoE ice storm

For anyone that heard me ranting about the ice elemental yesterday, Arenanet has patched it. Yay!

lol I had a team that tried for about an hour to beat the ice elemental when he was bugged, got about 3 people refreshed into the group cause others kept dropping. I had 15 agony resistance so it wasn't a problem, but trying to keep everyone up that was getting downed instantly was getting me killed.

It was our 3rd path too so we really wanted to finish but ended up quitting.

Some of us have moved to Kaineng and some have moved to SoS, though I believe some remain on SBI, which is a ghost server. Unfortunately, though, server transfers are now paid, starting a few days ago. Over the last couple of days, there have been maybe 5 or 6 people active and representing in the guild. :\

Sorry I disappeared shortly after hitting level cap. I was playing Distant Worlds. it kinda pulled me in a little bit and then my ADD one track mind had me playing only that when I was in front of the PC at home.

I'm enjoying this so far. I was holding off to see how it'd weather through the initial rush, and I can honestly say it's doing quite well; better than other MMOs I've tried in the last few years that all ended up dying a month later. Servers are still strongly populated and there's a lot of them (20+?). I was also waiting for some sort of sale to happen again (I missed the Christmas Deluxe sale), but a friend of mine that never stays with any game more than 2 days kept pestering me to try it. I tried calling around for physical copies (call me old-school, but I like having discs available for reinstalls), but there were NONE within a 100 mile radius? Wtf! So I said screw it - and bought a digital version (and decided against anything more than the regular one since the in-game items weren't useful in any way).

I know the game had a rough launch, but as someone unbiased from that experience, I can honestly say I'm having difficulties going to sleep because I want to keep playing! And that hasn't happened in a long, long time for me. >.<

I'm really looking forward to WvW and will try that this weekend with my bud. How do you guys feel about it?

What i saw b4 i went on my business trip was.

1. They fixed the crazy Asura. The lighting balls no longer hit the ceiling and now will go straight up.

2. They partially fixed the cult boss on the hammer stage.
Now you need to get him really close to the seal b4 u stack, or there is a high chance of him not bugging.



Other things i noticed in fotm.
1. U can now join someone in a higher lvl and get credit at your lvl...
Its a fail for you, but a win for a friend who wants to advance yet cant find a group.
2. I have ran a fotm60 as a favor to a friend in the other guild and got absolutely RAPED. it was so bad to the point where i just started to laugh so hard, cuz it was so BS.
3. AR is only good up to FOTM 44, after that ur dead on the floor with AR30.
4. Revive orbs become a must so does repair orbs on 50+

is Stormbluff wvwvw that bad? I havent done much at all. What is the issue? Bad tactic, bad players, or not enough players?

No we lost everyone in SBI who was decient.
This was one of my biggest peeves because i needed map completion and PVP badges which wasnt going to happen on SBI.

I see a lot of our old commanders on SOS tho.
I saw Kaine... even gave him a invite to [TS].

If u guys are on SOS and want an invite, let Montauk, Knee, or I know.
I think those 2 got invite privs.

I need to start trying some of the other classes again. While I have created 1 of just about everything at one point or another, I gave up on most of them aside from the warrior and guardian.

They are PAINFUL to get to 80, but once at 80 and geared, they become very hard hitters.
Like i said, my necro when setup can out dps my warrior any day of the week while kiting.

Of course it helps to have 20+stack of perma bleed

On which server are most of you on?

Seems like we all went different paths when SBI crumbled.
It seems tho most of the officers moved to Kaineng.
While the other group moved to SOS for the WvW aspect and the world bonuses.




Also guys for those of u who just got 80 and have no clue where to start.

My advice...

CoF + CoF + CoF until u sleep dream and speak P1 in Citadel of Flame.

I say this because CoF has the best Gold rate.
14s on first boss, 21s on last boss with 1 omnoberry bar. = 35s just on boss kills in under 9min with a good team.

Then you rince and repeat if u have a good group.

U can see if u have a good group u can do about 5 in one hour... and net a over 2g just from boss kills...

Add the chest drops, and you'll probably be able to net 15-20% more.

CoF 1 is great for gold, but if you're just starting out it isn't nearly as efficient as running AC daily--because you get the full compliment of tears and in a good group, can do all 3 paths in under an hour. This gives you great cash--about 4g+ total, and 2 pieces of good exotic gear.

Of course, you can keep doing CoF enough that the tokens stack up without noticing as well. just that DR kills you when repeating the same path--if you're looking for tokens

Nah.. CoF is faster if u have a good group.
Also your net gold is from boss kills.. not chest loot.
AC on the other hand... cant match the silver on CoF cuz AC is a lvl35 dungeon, while CoF is a lvl75 dungeon.

Also ur not playing with DR in CoF... again ur after 2 boss kills in under 10 min. (u remember woop trying to rush us so we could pull 3 rounds of CoF with 1 onmo.)

Im not forcing anyone to move.
Im just saying what my opinions are in WvW.

Im a fairly established commander on SOS now, so i know how SOS flows in WvW.

And i totally agree with you on some part in AC.
However not everyone is rolling a gaurdian, and Warriors sometimes do better with a mix of berserkers gear which CoF can give you and AC cant.

I litterally did about 20-30 CoF runs per day when i was farming my legendary.
I was honestly netting 10g per day, until i massed arround 590G which then i bought Dusk from the TP.

Thats AFTER blowing 200g at the mystic toliet and giving up on getting that precursor that way.

so yeah.. my total cost for dusk alone... 790g... not possible unless u farm CoF like a madman.

So...this game was stagnating for me for a bit and I didn't even play for a month. My Guardian is 80 and didn't really feel like doing dungeons/Fractals at the time, I was leveling a mesmer, but most of that came from crafting and it's now 45 but I only run it through stuff for the daily achievements which is helping it level. So, I decided to go back to the roots of the game and started a new Asuran Ranger.

I feel that this breathed new life into the game for me, even though I've done it so many times already. Starting out fresh with everything to do, and with an Asuran Ranger no less, is making it fun all over again for me.

Just wanted to mention that if people are starting to feel stagnant with the game or just not motivated to play; start a new character.

Yeah, I have been meaning to really work on some of the other characters I have made. I also need to complete the map still on at least 1 character as well as finish the story... I got a little burned out from FotM grinding for ascended gear and have not been playing as much lately (just doing daily so that I can get the next new ascended piece... which again is just kind of burning me out even more with the never-ending grind when this game was suppose to be grind free....)

I am really glad I only have 2 lvl 80's because the grind for ascended gear on more than that (especially with the way the new one works) is just insane...

i haven't even played the game in months because i got sick and tired of all the account issues i had back then. plus the game wasn't doing anything for me either.

i sent an support request but guessing i am screwed.

I ran into a similar issue with my account being hacked as well. The way that it was handled really put a bad taste in my mouth and did not have any interest in playing again.

Whatever operations team that handles these issues is complete utter trash.

When I heard Kaineng was heading up the ladder, I didn't realize they were on our doorstep (I'm on TC). I log on to WvW this week and... Suprise: Kaineng!

They were still trading blows with BG when I checked ~2 days ago. Too bad we'll probably be swapping out with FA in tier 3 come reset time....

It seems like there are about 5 servers that belong in tier 2 (skill / participation wise), and that only 2 belong in tier 1 (although tier 1 is likely colluding to maintain their positions). The upside is that we see a lot of variety in tier 2: there are new competitors each week. The downside is that one of those five tier 2 servers is always flagging under the grips of tier 1, while another one is always relatively unchallenged in tier 3.

We "might" be colluding... No really, we arn't, it is simply that since our zergs in the game are typically equal, the person we can easily win against has been whoever the new guy of the cycle has been. It isn't entirely our fault that the weakest team has been the one suffering the most, but that is simply how it is setup to begin with.

The 3 player is at a disadvantage in tier 1 now no matter who that person is for the moment simply because it is assumed they are the weakest. This makes it self fulfilling, because due to being seen as weak, and getting attacked by one of the tier 1's, they are most definitely weak to an attack by the other tier 1 since all their people are trying to defend against the other's attack. And because they have no time to fortify things properly, they are open to more and more attacks. Until a group that moves up and decides to spend major bank and constantly have full WvWvW servers, the "3rd" tier 1 will always be a rotating position (and by bank, I mean probably a couple thousand gold on siege/fortifications during the cycle).

Yeah, that is one of the reasons why I have been holding off. I am hoping that they also release a power+vit+toughness version (along with a utility infusion slot). I really havn't been running fractals lately. I guess I should to at least get my warrior a backpiece (I think I am about 500 relics short of the 1850 needed).

So who else bought bank and bag slots since they are currently on sale? I just maxed my bank slots and the bag slots on my 2 main characters as well. I guess I really do need to go run fractals some so I can get more 20 slot bags to fill those slots.... (on that note glad I had bought a bunch of gems a while ago and still had plenty left... only had to buy 300 more to finish maxing the bank and bag slots that I purchased). I think last night it was up to something like 2.3g for 100 gems (I got in early for only 1.9g per 100).

It appears that the digital deluxe version isnt worth it...now I have to decide a class. Kinda between ranger, warrior, and thief right now just from a quick gander (I know nothing about the game)

Warrior - heavy armor damage dealer, tons of melee weapons, dual wield (everyone can dual wield but not many can use Axe/Axe, Sword/Sword, Mace/Mace or any combination of them), rifle and longbow.

Guardian - heavy armor support, melee weapons and ranged magic weapons.

Engineer - medium armor, medium range, support. Gadgets, elixirs and tricks. Rifles, pistols and shields only but weapon kits like flamethrower, grenades and bombs.

Ranger - medium armor, survivalist. Pets (can swap between 2 pets during combat and use 1 unique ability per pet), bows but also swords (loads of evasion and flanking) and axes. Usual nature survival and spirits.

Thief - medium armor, heavy single target damage. Mobility and stealth. Ninja tricks (like stealing environmental weapons from opponents). Sword, daggers, pistols and bow.

Necromancer - light armor, survivalist. Loads of hitpoints and survival via secondary health bar mechanics. Minions, life steal, death magic and debilitating conditions.

Mesmer - light armor, survivalist. Loads of confusing and damage via clones and phantasms, stealth and mobility, turning enemy resources against themselves. Ranged and close combat.

Elementalist - ligth armor support. 4 elements swapping during combat. Loads of aoe. Loads of combo fields in staff.

For leveling a warrior, you will use a greatsword. Until you hit level 50 or 60, you will also want to place all signets for your skills (not that you will activate them) and get the perk which adds precision for each signet that isn't activated (sorry I don't remember what that is under, probably needs either 10 or 20 points placed in the precision skilltree). After you have perk, place your points under strength and a couple under toughness/vitality (only if you are dying).

As I said that should get you easily to level 50 or 60. At that point you should be able to easily run AC with a group and almost gain a level each time you run it (you can probably start doing AC around level 45 if you have never run it before). Running AC that early has the side benefit of starting to earning the tears which you can use to purchase lvl 80 exotic equipment with power+vit+toughness (this is a very good dungeon gear setup with your accessories set to power+precision+critical damage bonus).
