You have to have some farm spots considering the Ascended weapons mats requirements.

Anet should have just dropped the idea of trying to keep the vertical progression crowd, because:
a) they will not keep it (VP crowd is about exclusivity not 10% more stats that will still get you killed if you can't dodge);
b) it infuriate alt and build experimenters.

added to a): exclusivity is certainly not going to happen, either, when you just dump piles and piles of mats on the world that can be easily obtained by anyone by logging in and mashing 1 for a few hours while you watch Babylon 5 reruns.

(sorry, been reading/hearing a lot about Babylon 5 these days--never seen it myself )

And isn't the crown pavilion out?

The Queens gauntlet, some of the labyrinthine cliffs achievements and the invasions (albeit the invasions don't make much sense and don't change the zone if you fail) are IMO great content.

The Tequatl revamp (17th of September pathc) also seem to be something in the right way.

If only those stupid pink items had stayed out of the game...

someone in local chat not too long ago mentioning that invasions are going to be ongoing--pretty much permanent? completely random every 3 or so hours.

That sounds like a "tolerable" level if you ask me. Now, it doesn't currently make sense, but I guess that chick was never killed so the whole thing will happen again. Crown Pavilion is supposed to return in the future, too, I believe.

I like the Tequatl update--need more of this. hopefully it pans out.

Hopefully not like what they did with Karka Queen, though: as soon as they put that in and people dig it, for the most part (I honestly liked how they developed the Southsun map for that event, actually made it "living" and added the permanent changes), they introduce another grind event that takes place everywhere but Southsun. Seriously, guys? You try to get the population back to this dead part of the world, then just as soon you kill it again.

One request they have answered is that I have been wanting more use out of Divinity's Reach--perhaps the best map in any game I have recently seen, and so hated that it has been largely useless throughout the first year--and the Queen's Pavilion did that. It would be nice to have more permanent activity in the capitals (well, BC and Divinity especially). If only they would put some mystic forges in the cities....

My wife absolutely loves her kite... And damn there are a lot of haters around here. I play the game, turn off map chat, and initiate the Troll every chance I get to mess with the zergers...

Hey! I haven't seen you guys since forever ago with GW1. I forgot about that kite, lol. It was fun running around LA with it for a little while--I wish you could have kite battles with other players, though. that would be sweet.

Most of those gifts I could do without--they just take up storage space, but for some reason, I really like the eternal watchwork tonic reward from the invasion event.

I like the new game updates, but I really haven't been grinding out my gathering and leveling the crafts--I've got artifice to about 461 to at least do the daily ecto refinements, and will focus on getting weaponsmith and huntsman to 450 as well. that means leveling these is slow, but it hasn't really cost me anything, yet (had piles of ori and ori ingots stocked from when the rich ori vein was available in Southsun).

Still haven't logged into the new SAB. :\

I have to go through and lookup most of what ya'll post on here. I don't do much of the events -- Liz does them much more than I. All but two of my 9 or 10 characters are lvl 80 now though.

I think one of the main things that keeps us interested in Guild Wars is that real world crap takes up most of our time, so we really don't get a lot of time to play.

I have a 64ish Necro. I haven't played since launch+2 months.

What server is AT crew on? do we have a guild? I find the game boring solo.

The AT guild is dead. You can still join if you want, though

The oldest part of the crew is probably on SBI. Those that remained longest and still playing are probably still on Kaineng, and still some of us have moved on to TC.

Well it depends what you want. Kaineng is still pretty good. TC is great and helpful, filled with RPers, but bear in mind that also means that much of the open world PvE is very packed. This is both good, but also frustrating when you get booted to overflow when trying to get into an event.

People there are very helpful, though.

How did you get to 461? I seem to be completely stuck at ~430. It's annoying as hell, and stupidly expensive crafting stuff at this level -- the materials cost so much, and the result is near worthless.

Yeah, I need to get working on my crafting in general (never got anything other than jeweler up to lvl 400, as it was really the only one that made something worthwhile)... I guess I should want to craft ascended weapons to keep the whole damage creep in check (I am already behind as I didn't stick with it and find myself 110 laurels short of getting my main characters back to top level, now add ascended weapons on top of what I am already in the hole...).

Nice link there. I got my artificer to 451, only to realize that it is pointless for me to do so, since I will never be able to use any of the recipes at that level. Oh well. It was fun doing it at least.

my artificer is currently at 467. I've been saving the piles of dragonite and bloodstone dust and whatnot so that I can spam several of these at once with a crafting booster.

also using the others--weaponsmith and huntsman--to refine the wood and ori that I have been slowly collecting. I have those on separate characters, so I just left an active craft booster on them and log in only briefly to do some quick crafts.

I use the lower levels to craft what will still give XP for that one, and be useable for artifice or weaponsmith--like refinements and inscriptions. Once they hit the xp wall, I just focus on finishing one, using those inscriptions. It's very slow, but the reailyt is that you dont' need to max one until you have enough materials to actually craft the weapon. You are limited to how many ectos you can refine. ....well, I am there with ecto, I'm just not going to finish it yet because I am cheap. I also need to get back into the dungeon rolling because I need another 350 or so empyreal stars.

Yeah, I need to run some dungeons again now that they change my HELMET! I am really pissed at the change because it looks horrendous now. It is the SE Charr heavy helmet that was changed. Previously it looked a lot like Darth Vader's helmet, having a metallic finish, with just the neck line looking like leather. Now it is some horrible leathery looking POS with horns and ears that pop through somehow, and the cheeks/mouth expand/contract in size making it look like spandex cloth...

hah! I noticed that last night, too. I was honestly getting sick of mine, though. At first, I thought it was super creepy and loved the novelty of it, which is why I picked it up initially.

I now appreciate that it shows the badass Charr horns and has more definition in the face design. I consider it an improvement for Charr.

But the real Darth Vader helmet is the light SE helmet, and that did not change (for human, anyway)

I will probably just change over to the CoF helmet since I have the tokens saved up for it... But I liked the fact that I had a fairly unique helmet. Very few people run/ran SE...

Either that or I might get the Charr cultural helm.

yeah, I had never seen another Charr running around with that when I picked it up. I thought it was horrible, and also awesome for being so horrible.

People do run SE quite a bit, simply because it is very fast and easy...not nearly as much as CoF 1, but you can say that about any dungeon path.

overall, Charr have terrible armor options, especially the helmets. the cultural stuff is probably the best out there. even the hellfire helmet you get with achievement points looks like a giant firey dildo on a Charr.
