so can you join more then 1 guild? i was confused by this, thought i read you could but you only represent 1 at a time, someone sent me an invite but it wouldn't let me join as i was already in a guild

someone explain the "overflow" to me and how its different

also is there a site where i can go and read about crafting and all that crap. didn't play a ton this weekend but i got to lvl 8.

Each character can join a different guild. However your account can only reresent 1 guild at a time.

aka your other 4 characters cannot see anything that goes on in gchat or the guild of the 5th. Its actually close to how other MMos do it.

My friend made a thief character on my account that was human and that thing moved pretty normally. I didn't want to use a human and switched to a wolf?/beast looking char and that thing moves like crap.

Those are called "Charr"

And I personally like how they look/move. Sadly all charr and humans I made on day 1 got stuck in tutorial getting 0 credit for the events, so I went asura.



Also for anyone else reading this new to GW2, post directly under OP is tips for beginngers I just editted.

I also can say at this time, personally I am enjoying the 2-h staff weilding elementalist as I am planning on running fire/frost (healing with dps capabilities) or a fire/air/frost set-up for traits.

Honestly most that thanks should be directed to Zin, he has helepd me learn the game a lot since he did experience all the beta weekends and I was late to the party.

But I will try and keep everything in the Op and #2 post updated to current status, especially the beginner tips. A few of those may help those when they zone in not realizing what they can/should do. Since there is no quest grabbing and run to destination, as it is a little more free and go do what you want

Yeah I like the way they look too just they feel slower than humans for some reason. Jumping seems different too. It's ok though I'm getting used to my toon. Didn't realize there was tips in the first couple of posts but I appreciate it.

Thank you for that, I've been thinking about jumping into this. I haven't played an MMO since FFXI about 7 years ago.

I love how lost I am starting a new MMO. I think my buddy spent an hour trying to get to me so we could play for a little bit, only for us to not be able to get into the same overflow.

I need to stop leveling and take in the game. Pick up professions, get the rest of my weapon types, and actually look at my class.

I think I'm going to lose some sleep this week

The one thing I'm missing in all these posts is whether or not this game is actually any good. It could either mean that there aren't really a whole lot of AT players playing or everyone is so absorbed they can't post here.

Probably absorbed... some of them in the guild hit lv 40ish almost. On top of all most all the servers they put in GW2 is "full" and real launch isn't until tomorrow, and not a negative thing with any revelence has been said.

The combat is fun, the pvp is fun though needs some balancing. PvE endgame isnt huge like raids but more solo/5man group stuff that can be really hard.

If I wasnt at work, I dont think I would have ever updated the OP or added the tips to this page. Id be on GW2...

That thread was for the beta primarily, and the OP hasnt updated the thread any. So this thread is both the guild, and the takeover for discussion of GW2 (Hence the Sticky). But since most the people that comment on here about GW2 are in GW2...

k, all invites have been sent (except for Rhez, I guess). will resend when I get a chance (or anyone else does. a few officers now who if they are reading this thread and in game, can send the invite).

I think the best thing right now is if the join in doesn't work, to simply wait until it does. I don't think cancelling and re-inviting actually helps. It seems more or a random chance that it will actually work...kind of like joining your party in overflows :\



Honestly, lots of bugs that really should have been fixed prior to release (maybe big patch today, ahead of general release?): keeping formed parties together when traveling into instances, and the market actually working; and oversights: no direct trading in-game. seriously?
