and yes im being serious.
the necro does make one of the best tanks.

The gaurdian tho, can support / tank with signets.
Also can pop its 3 passives to apply to its team mates.

There will probably be a trial someday. Not sure how long they'll wait before releasing one.

Where GW2 differs from most MMOs in regards to guilds is you'll be able to join multiple guilds at once and jump between them with a simple mouse click in-game. So this allows you to be in many different guild types just like you're in many different social circles in real life.

Pretty neat.

I am rather torn on what server to pick.

Would like to roll with the AT crew on Stormbluff but at the same time I have 2 friends that will be playing on Sorrow's Furnace along with their old GW1 group

don't sweat it. You can join multiple guilds, across multiple servers, and the "guesting" function should be open soon enough.

Also--free server transfers for several days, so....

I'm thinking Necromancer just because I like Necros. However, I'm not sure. In MMO's I tend to have the most fun being the tank, so I'm thinking maybe Soldier instead.

Nec is pretty much the second best tank in the game right now...maybe the best? so if that's what you want, either Guardian or Nec.

seriously, though...don't expect to be a traditional MMO-style tank in this game.

Also, can you pretty much go wild with the character names, or are the pretty draconian about it like Blizzard? Yoda for a small guy warrior seems imminent; squashed because not unique/owned?

silver doesn't take too long. It is 1000 copper, which can be achieved merching just about anything, and completing a few events. anyone will have it by level 3 or 4.

there are no server queues, no waiting. ANet is rather ninja about handling server population. they have "overflow" instances if one area is too populated. Meaning, you get bumped to an additional, persistent server if the main server is too crowded and can keep on playing. you are put in queue for the main server, and notified, when available, to travel if you want. If in a group, you can choose to join whichever overflow your leader is in (this wasn't possible in BW1, which was probably the largest gripe about the game at the time)


I wouldn't say they are draconian at all about names....though, this coming from a guy who had 5 character names banned from GW1. eh, just try not to offend the retarded prudes that may be out there.
