Ok, I wanted to create a thread where we can keep track of all the happenings in NFL free agency, the draft, etc.

My contribution is Pierre Garcon will sign a 5 year, $42 million deal with the Redskins. I am still laughing hard.

Why not just create an offseason thread to cover FA, trades, the draft, and all other NFL related news?

Better!

Brandon Marshall traded to Chicago in exchange for 3rd round picks in 2012 and 2013. Not sure how that'll help them when the OL can't protect Cutler.

OL was smashed up last year and Martz's offense was in place. Look for the Bears to draft another OLmen and a complete remake of the offense. It helps. The bears have been complete CRAP at WR for DECADES. Thats right. DECADES.

Williams visits Bills

Houston Texans free agent defensive end Mario Williams is visiting the Buffalo Bills today.

The 6-foot-6, 283-pounder finished last season on injured reserve with a torn pectoral, but had five sacks and a forced fumble in just five games while lining up at outside linebacker in defensive coordinator Wade Phillips' 3-4 scheme.

Grubbs to visit Saints

Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowl offensive guard Ben Grubbs is visiting the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
He could step in as a more affordable replacement for free agent offensive guard Carl Nicks.
The Ravens made what coach John Harbaugh termed a “substantial offer,” to Grubbs. And Grubbs’ agent, Pat Dye, met with the Ravens at the NFL scouting combine, calling it a "positive meeting."
However Dye acknowledged that the Ravens' offer needed to be examined in comparison to what other teams might offer to the former Auburn standout who's thought of as the team's top all-around offensive lineman.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/...-Dolphins-Chicago-Bears-agree-to-trade-031312

One star wide receiver who wasn’t expected to find a new home shockingly was shipped Tuesday from South Florida to the Midwest at the start of the free-agent signing period.

Voices Heard Media
FOXSports.com has learned that the Miami Dolphins have agreed to trade Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the Chicago Bears for third-round picks in 2012 and 2013.
Marshall will now reunite with quarterback Jay Cutler, who was his teammate with the Denver Broncos from 2006-08.
The Bears were planning to enter the free-agent market in hopes of signing at least one top-flight wide receiver. Although many thought it was Vincent Jackson, they decided to swing the deal for Marshall.
The move now leaves the Dolphins in search of a new No. 1 wideout under first-year head coach Joe Philbin.
Marshall is coming off his best season with the Dolphins. He caught 81 passes for 1,214 yards and six touchdowns. But a combination of off-field issues and the inability to form a strong bond with either of Miami’s past two starting quarterbacks (Matt Moore and Chad Henne) put a damper on some of that success.
Marshall had some of the same types of problems in Denver, which led to his 2010 trade to the Dolphins. Marshall has posted 1,000-yard receiving seasons for five straight years.
Marshall, who turns 28 on March 23, has $6 million of his $9.3 million base salary for 2012 guaranteed, provided he doesn’t receive another NFL suspension. Marshall is also under contract to the Bears for 2013 and 2014 at $9.1 million a season.

Could this be a precursor to signing both Wayne and Manning?

So they have 14 million a year wrapped up in some scrubs while SF gambles 2.5mil on Randy Moss? Yeh, Niners did ok.

Redskins paying $14 million a year for Garcon and Morgan. That is comical. Garcon is fast and makes circus catches but misses the easy ones and really pisses you off.
