That deal really doesn't mean shit if they don't improve their O-Line because Cutler will get the shit knocked out of him again if he doesn't get decent protection.
Later games of the season were *MUCH* better for the line. He had as many sacks in the last five games as he did in *each* of the first 2. Line tightened up, but more importanty they went to a more balanced offense and not as many deep dropbacks by Cutler waiting for a play to develop that left him vulnerable.
If they go more west coast style with a new coordinator with short dink & dunks using the deep threat and run to keep defenses honest he'll fare much better. Marshall is a ball hogging possession guy so it's perfect for him. Forte is great out of the backfield and makes for a good safety valve checkdown.
Martz being gone will help them a lot. Go more simple, attack the middle and edges with your new aggressive receiver, give Forte more room to run. If Roy Williams is still undercontract maybe giving him more space with Marshall on the other side opens him up more too. Plus Bennett isn't a terrible WR and you still have Hester there for speed threats.
