But the 18th of June is a Saturday. Do you recieve and ship on the weekend? You're not talking about the 18th and 19th of July are you?

Your presence here on this forum has me thinking about taking a chance on an unknown company, but I don't see anything about your policies on your website. Did I miss something? Y'all seem like you've got the right idea about service, but your sales, privacy, RMA and return policy are critical for people doing business over the web. Given all the horror stories I've heard and a few I've experienced firsthand, it's scary to contemplate buying from someone who doesn't say what happens if I need an RMA.

I guess I hadn't realized the 18th was a Saturday when we posted that.

Regardless, that's a very, very rough estimate. There is some chatter that AMD might not be even getting the intial shipments out on time. For arguments sake though, if we get our shipments in "on time" the orders from the 2nd will ship very close (maybe a 2-3 delay) to the orders from the first batch. What I'm trying to say is that anyone who orders now will hopefully have thiers shipped about 3 days after we get ours in.

All of this (including our existing orders) is completely contingent on our shipments from AMD, which is unfortunately totally out of our control. Our pre-orders don't garauntee a shipment by a certain date; it just garantee's you'll get one of our processors when they come in, and that you will get precedence over any subsequent orders.

As for our policies, we do have them posted, but your comment makes me think we should put them in a more prominent spot. You can see them here:

Our Policies

For future reference, there is an information box in the right side of the screen, and there is a link in there for policies. After you give it a read, if anything seems unclear, or if you see any glaring omissions, drop me an e-mail or PM to let me know and we'll fix it right away.

Lastly, we'd be quite happy if you'd be willing to "take the risk" on us. I completely understand anybody's hesitance to deal with an unknown. This is especially true when you're talking about a ~$600 purchase. If I can ever answer any questions for you to help put your mind at ease, please feel free to ask; just do us all a favor and either PM me, or contact my staff via our website. I don't want to turn this forum/thread into an "all about TankGuys" deal anymore than I already have

I finally noticed the itty bitty link for your policy down at the bottom of the front page. It's very small, but it's right where I'd look for it. I just hadn't been to the top before. And now that you mention it, I see your "helpful info" box too, but that doesn't show up on the product pages either. That link really ought to be on all your pages.

So when are you expecting the second shipment? Or rather, what is AMD telling you? I figure by now you've realized you can't tust what AMD tells you, if you ever had such illusions in the first place.

I went ahead and ordered, but was suprised that shipping costs me eight bucks. Did I miss some sort of special on the shipping?

Our free shipping was a promotion we were running on our original pre-order batch. However, I'll take care of anyone from this forum who orders now and set you up with the free shipping. Those of you who already ordered, PM me with your order number, or go to your account history, and add a comment with your forum nickname and say you wanted the free shipping option.

Finally, my system still says the 15th for our original order, and the 2nd batch should arrive 2-3 days after that. However, at this point I'm starting to think that they won't ship by the 15th. So the best I can tell you is that any orders placed now will ship 2-3 days after we get our batch from AMD. When exactly that's going to be is ultimately up to the good folks at AMD who don't seem to concerned with giving us particularly exact ETAs.

*EDIT* Just to let everyone know, the free shipping option was not for 2nd day air, it is for Fed-Ex ground shipping, which takes an average of 4-5 days. However, our shipments will be comming from California, so any west-coast customers could expect the shipment to arrive within a day or two.

MAKE SURE if you place an order now, that you put your forum nickname in the comments section, and say you are an anandtech forum member who wants the free ground shipping option.

Any orders without this information cannot be changed, because it causes way too much of an administration headache. So I repeat, if you order an X2 from us and you want free shipping, you MUST put that in your comments along with your forum nickname!

Thanks TankGuys. If your company can keep the attitude towards customers you've been showing here, y'all really deserve a big bite of the market.

Thanks! We're doing the best we can, all things considered. What with AMD constantly changing thier minds and being rather unreliable, we're still trying to make the best of it. I feel bad that we can't give an absolute, firm ETA on shipping right now either. Supposedly we are still on track for the 15th, but I'll only know for sure when I have the chips in our warehouse.

Regardless, we'll get them as soon as AMD start shipping them out, so we'll hope they do so sooner rather than later!

Have any of the Nforce3 board makers announced support? I really want to stick wtih AGP and of course none of the NF4 boards support it.

Thanks TankGuys for all the help - if you can find me a board I will place my pre-order.

If you check out this link:

AMD official Compatible Motherboards

You can get an idea of what motherboards will work based on your other preferences. Once you find one that you like, and which works, you can look and see if we have it on our site. If we do not, just PM me and I'll get you a price on it if possible.

I have an A8V Deluxe waiting already for my dually

I'd imagine more motherboards with AGP will show up on that support list in time. I guess just give them a little time to create the new bios.

It would have surprised me if they actually met their original shipping date. AMD does this sort of thing all the time with new technology. I think they announce the earliest possible date so they can ship new CPUs as soon as they have enough to spread among the vendors. They'd rather be late than be early and have the next generation of CPUs gathing dust for two or three weeks before they can be shipped.

HOLY SMOKES! TigerDirect just shipped both my OEM 4400+ X2s!!! And by "just shipped out", I mean it was scanned by UPS at 12:20AM this morning (June 14th).

Looks like AMD did get their OEM shipments out, which means if you ordered OEM from Monarch, you should probably be getting your items pretty damn soon too!

Holy freakin $%^&! Monarch doesn't show that mine has shipped (yet), but this sounds hopeful. Regardless, I'm just happy to have something to refute the AMD-is-having-manufacturing-problems trolls...

Trolls? AMD is having X2 manufacturing issues; it's a well-known fact.
A well known fact perpetuated entirely on message board forums such as this one! Until you post a link to a reliable news organization sayings its fact, at least.

I'll happily provide some links to the news coverage of AMD's production woes. However, my web-surfing is pretty limited during the day so it might have to be later tonight when I have a chance.

Please do, because I have yet to read anything about manufacturing problems for the X2's, except for the incessant babbling of Dothan.

Roger, and it's not a problem with the chip, but simply a case of them moving and opening different production lines. It's perfectly common among manufacturers and it just results in a slight delay until things get rolling. Don't panic! Their problem is simply one of production, not engineering
