You can possibly get some OEM versions at a few places, I think some are rumored to *maybe* be shipping.

As far as a retail boxed version, nowhere yet, you can only pre-order. AMD hasn't shipped any out, so it depends on when they finally send them.

OEMs are shipping, it's not a rumor. Tracking shows mine will arrive tomorrow via UPS 2nd Day Air.

I'm still waiting on monarch to update their site. I'm getting the "Your order has been submitted to the warehouse for processing. Shipping from this point typically takes 1-2 business days after the order has been approved. Our shipping system will automatically email you your tracking number when your order has been shipped." So I don't know if they got their shipment or if this is the standart text.

I would bet it's standard text.

See, the problem is on AMD's end for all of these order questions. None of us retailers have gotten our allotments from AMD, and nobody seems to be getting very precise answers from AMD on exact dates. So it's not Monarch's fault at all, they're doing the best they can I'm sure.

True, but you're paying for two FX-53 cores in a single chip package.

I can confirm OEM X2 are shipping, at least to some places.

A local shop received an order of 25 pieces today. Surprisingly he only ordered 2 of the 4800+, but he does have them. These are OEM chips.

Someone on abxzone said tigerdirect shipped his 4400+ yesterday so I guess they are shipping just very slowly.

Must have been OEM, right? I don't think anyone has retail boxed yet.

Of course, I think most of us in here that actually care know the retails aren't coming out until sometime in July.

July might be a bit pessimistic, but I'm not placing any bets either. If we don't get our shipment tomorrow (which at this point looks highly unlikely) we aren't even going to give our customers an ETA anymore, other than to say that the moment we get them, we'll ship them out. I don't want to keep getting people's hopes up only to dissapoint again.

I wish AMD would just give a solid date and stick with it, to save us all the hassle.

I do hope they come tomorrow because all my other parts are just collecting dust waiting for the 4800+ chip At the moment I only have 2 boxes full of pc parts waiting to be put together to work in harmony. So to reiterate I have 2 very expensive paper boxes;( Though I know it's not the resellers fault just AMD for taking so long. Sigh.

I feel your pain, we hear that from a lot of people unfortunately. I remember I went through something similar a few years back, and it's no fun at all.

It's not looking very promising. We would typically have them by now, but no word yet. My guess is we're playing "wait and see" again at this point. In any case, I'll be sure to post with any news I receive, as usual.

I am noticing the OEM chips (a very small number though) filtering through the supplier channels at this point, so again, it's at least a good sign that the retail boxed will ship within the near future.

Monarch has now changed the ETA of the oems to the 24th and is a giving a date for retails, July 6th. Still better then waiting until Q3 like initially rumored...

I don't understand why companies do this. Sure, there are people out there willing to spend that much to get it right away, and so they stand to make big money off the sale. But now they have a rep for price gouging, and it doesn't exactly breed good will from other customers. The whole thing seems very short-sighted and a very bad business model.

Wow, Monarch is getting ridiculous, we have heard from a couple other places that they are starting to ship them yet Monarch cannot, and on top of all this they charged my credit card $1000 on 6/05 and I have already incurred interest on this charge and normally I wouldn't bitch if I actually had what I paid for in my hands, but now i have to wait until 6/24? Come on, I am considering cancelling my order.

I am not blaming them for the delay I KNOW this is AMDs fault, but why the hell do I have to pay interest on a $1000 purchase on my credit card that I have yet to receive?

Yeah, I don't know why they'd charge you before they even had the product to send to you. Interest on $1000 really adds up, and I would probably pull my order out as well.

Are you sure they actually *charged* your card, or was it a credit hold? If they actually charged, I think that's agains the law. I could be wrong, but I think it's technically illegal to charge your card before shipping the product.

Look at your card and see if your balance has gone up, or if it's just that your available credit is $1000 less. You might just have a credit hold for that amount...

If they did actually charge, that's ridiculous.

No I am absolutely sure they charged my card and its not a credit hold. It showed up under my completed transactions. I would post it except for obvious security reasons. I wasn't sure if I was right in this situation, but I guess I am. These idiots pissed me off for the last time.

Hm, that's definitely not a good thing. Especially not for a $1000 purchase like that. I would pursue that if I were you.

I am really surprised that happened. I should think it was just a mistake... Monarch is a good company and I wouldn't think they would charge like that as policy.
