Looks like that ULi chipset ran the X2 just fine after we tried WindowsXP. Don't know what was up with Win2k, but hopefully you'll figure that one out. A pleasure meeting you Mark, and it was fun seeing all your toys.

You bet, come on over , and you can play with the X2 also.
Oh, and win2k got hosed somehow, I had to do a repai instal to get the winchester to work. IAfter we got back from the boat trip, all the kids wanted to play a lan party, so I neede to put the 430 back where it was to play games, . Then I put the X2 in the Abit board where it is now at 2477 The neo2 X2 is doing fine at 2560. I did have the new X2 at 2650 or something like that at 1.475 vols just like the neo2, but the temps said 70c idle !!!! So I put it back down to 1.4 and 2477.

I don;t see the reason for HDtach, as disk IO is not pertinent to a dual-core. More suggestions ?

Thanks. Can you run Everest's memory test rather? I'm curious about *real* memory speeds...

PS: Everest is not simply much better in diagnostics (HP uses it for years now, since it was AIDA32, we use it here for 100 machines for inventory, remote process/service management, diags etc) but it sports a small memory tests which gives a score way closer to reality: http://www.lavalys.com/products/overview.php?pid=1&lang=en

This thread feels slightly hijacked with all these benchmarks. Anyone have info on the X2 being in stock somewhere or good pre-order deals? I got burned at ZZF falsely stating it was in stock when I cancelled my TankGuys preorder..

I got the same out of stock email from ZZF, and I placed my order one minute before I got the Tank Guys email telling me ZZF had them lol. Anyways, I anticipated this and that's why I said I wouldn't cancel my TG order until I got a tracking number from someone else. At that point the only company's "In Stock" claim that I will believe is Newegg's.

ZZF's email said they are expecting stock on July 1st. We'll see but that isn't too long to wait. So I'll keep my order with them too, but I'm canceling a week after that if it still hasn't shipped since I don't want that on my credit card when the monthly cycle bills me. Worst that happens is TG and ZZF both get stock at the very same time and I get two of em... at least I have decent prices locked in.

That's kind of a bummer there. On the other hand, my Mwave order has been sitting in a warehouse by my house since Friday night... a little late for Friday delivery. My P-180 from Tankguys only just now shipped out of Illinois. It's been in Illinois for the past week since Tankguys shipped it out... I'm a bit irked at UPS.

I think mwave may still have some. You could also check TigerDirect... I know people tend to not like them, but at least they may have them in stock.

On a side note, on of our distributors is telling me that we're getting ~18 or so shipped to us on the 29th. Of course, I'm not holding my breath, but it's possible.

Yea, UPS can be really annoying. We actually ship with FedEx a lot too, we generally have better luck with them. However, sometimes if I use UPS, I can ship sooner depending on when the services run thier pick-ups. Sorry to hear about UPS being slow like that, I'll remember that in the future.

So, I'm getting my motherboard and windows today from ZZF without my 4400. Not bitching or whining...just stating the facts. bummer.

OFF

I really prefer UPS - FedEx is completely retarded here. Last time they got me twice taking a day off for sitting home for nothing: nobody showed up.
Even when they finally arrived (3rd day), they came waay too late... and the guy wanted to COME BACK because he couldn't find the pick up number... when I said you don't go anywhere, he said I can't kidnap him, he'll call the police. I said go ahead - no, I won't kidnap you, I just won't let you out from here without my dead HDTV... he was a frikkin lazy@ss. And half of them (FedEx folks) are the same @ss in my home area.

UPS is completely different experience: arrives always between 10-11AM, like a swiss watch, always the same, very polite guy. Heck, he even got some recipes from us (he smelled the goodie when my wife was cooking ).
I prefer UPS in my home area at any day over FedEx.

Strange for me UPS just throws the package anywhere if no one answers the door. The last time I had my package on top of my bush On the other hand Fed Ex will either come back or tell me when I can pick up the package from their base. Other than that, Mwave seems to have all the X2 chips but the 4400. So if anyone wants to buy 4200, 4600 or the 4800 Mwave has it and they're quick to deliver.

The quality of service from UPS really depends on the drivers in your area and maybe how much of a work load they have. Many people report problems with UPS while many others have had basically no problems. All the carriers do just fine in my area.

Right now I'm dissapointed that FedEx now sells out their customers privacy to the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Customs. They monitor and report customer activities and share a police department, as well as a database with the Federal government. UPS refused to peddle their customers information.

*possibly* being shipped to us on the 29th. I'm not going to bet money on it, but it's possible. What's strange is that I CAN get dual core opterons, yet no X2's. Very frustrating.

On the plus side, we finally started carrying OCZ memory. So at least there is some good news!
