ok dumb question, but do most people have the item shipped to yourselves? Then wrap it, THEN ship to the recipient? Or just shipped directly from the online store to the recipient?

i guess you could do either, i like to wrap it and send it

I use to pick the items up locally at B&M. Obviously, I then wrapped and sent. Now that I do it all online, I direct ship.

I mean direct ship seems the most logical from a time and paying double ship standpoint of course. But you lose the "present" feeling of it I'd think.

For many online sellers, you can put in a note and/or identify the sender.

It may not be wrapped, but it is there and, because I did not have to pay for shipping twice, there is more to spend on the gifts.

You can do it however you want. I had mine shipped to myself so I can wrap it and add a more personal touch to it. You dont have to do that though.

If you're getting them a single item then I think shipping directly is definitely better. However, if you're getting them a "grab bag" type of gift, composed of several items, I feel like it would take away from the experience to get multiple packages delivered. I think the experience would be much more enjoyable getting a single box (even if not wrapped) containing each gift.
Assuming I can order the gifts and get them here with enough time to ship them out again, that's what I intend to do.

That's completely up to you. If you prefer to be anonymous, you can stay anonymous (but put your return address as from "ATOT SS" or something just for safety).

If you want to let the person know who you are, no harm done. It's completely up to you.

The last item I ordered came today. Just need to make some time to get out to the post office tomorrow, or Friday if I can't manage.

I too am concerned about buying a "double", especially since I don't think returns would be possible in this situation. I took a gamble with one item which my recipient may have, but that's the only risk. Partly because if he doesn't have one I'm pretty sure it would be a great pick (watch me be wrong).
